Extremely sore nipples & areola!!
Hi Girls,
I saw my PS again today (I'm 2 weeks post op after having 415cc overs with an under crease incision). Basically, my nipples, areola and the area surrounding them are so tender and painful It's like when your boobies get sore when you have your period, but much, much worse!! Kind of like a pins & needles, slightly burning feeling when I touch them. My PS said that my boobs are healing nicely and there are so signs of an infection, so it must be the nerves healing. I know people get sore nipples, but any one else had it this bad??
xx

Awww darlin' it's not pleasant it but it's a good sign that sensation is returning to your nipples. You may find that they become so sensitive it's painful and to help that, ice packs help and also using breast feeding pads, or I preferred the small round make-up pads just popped against the nipple so it was brushing over something soft rather then the coarseness of your bra hun. xx

Yes my nipples were in absolute agony right from the start and have only just calmed down... They felt like I'd had nipple twists until the first layer of skin was removed lol. They're ok now but only if I'm gentle, not that I go about vigorously tweaking my nips on a daily basis anyway haha.
Yours will settle soon enough I'm sure hun, your body is just repairing itself and will take time. X

When I had my first b a 2 1/2 years ago I did nt feel hardly any sensation in my nips for nearly a year but this time I did almost straight away. Still dont have full sensation but tbh for me its a small price to pay for nice boobs xx

Re: Extremely sore nipples & areola!!
I'm just over 3 weeks post op. I have very little (from totally numb) feeling in my nipples. Not worried about it at the mo, but the underneath of both breasts are both still VERY tender as well as the whole breast still feeling quite tender. It feels like bad sunburn. I know it'll go, but it's getting me down a bit now.
You're only 2 weeks post op remember, still VERY early days.

Ice packs are AMAZING for helping with the sunburn sensation Corrina, some people try anti-histamines too and find that helpful. xx

Thanks Cookie, just I've been back at work all week & last week & don't get home 'til late & thought really that ice packs were more for swelling. I'll give them another go, I just want to feel normal again! xx
