had my one week check today
and it went really well! Got the big plasters taken off and my steri-strips replaced and got to look at my incisions for the first time. The nurse is really happy with them and says that they are totally sealed on both sides, yey! I did feel a bit funny when I looked at them in the mirror lol bleurgh.
I have to keep these steri strips on for 3-4 days, then I can shower then I have to call the nurse on monday to let her know ive showered okay. She told me to dry my incisions by dabbing them with a dry towel, but I know some girls hairdry them gently too, then I have to replace my steri-strips with some more she's given me.
All is going well!

Glad to hear all is going well.
As for drying your wounds/steris.. dont use a towel, too much risk of contamination of the wound bed, cause when u think of it, youve used that towel to dry ur whole body, and even though you're 'clean' from the shower, your skin still has natural flora and that on it. Defo go for the hairdryer, its the only way youll feel really dry anyways. Plus a damp incision, especially in skin folds is a breeding ground for infection x

Re: had my one week check today
As nursesophie said, I wouldn't use a towel. I had periareolar incisions which is different I know but I let them dry naturally after I showered wandering round house topless, doing my hair and make up then finished it off with hair dryer if I was unsure if they were dry enough before putting bra on.Cookie gave good advice, if you can lay on your back and let them dry naturally ( if you have time to spare of course) as you have incisions under your creases. Make sure your complete dry before putting bra on. Xxx

Sorry I forgot to reply to you when I posted! Ive no idea what I'll end up with but hopefully a D or DD, I'd be very happy! And there is NO pain at all, honestly. The only thing I find a bit annoying is if my bra band rubs where my incisions are and then I just put some padding under it.

yeah my nurse said to use a clean towel, use it for the incisions only then back in the wash, seperate towel for everywhere else BUT I still think to be on the safe side I'd rather air dry then lightly hairdry :)
