Re: Ba under sedation......thoughts
I personally don't believe Twilight sedation is a good thing when having a BA. I've recently approached a surgeon myself about having a 'local anaethetic' to correct the scars around my areolas, his reply was a firm no because he felt he wouldn't be able to do the best work for me either having a local or under twilight as he would feel rushed to finish and would only operate on me under a general anaesthetic and that's just for scar revision!!! There's no way I'd have a whole BA done that way if I felt a surgeon might feel rushed to finish.
A question was also posed to our BAAPs surgeon here, James McDiarmid who is taking some time away for the time being whilst he gets established in his own clinic, you can read his response to having Twilight Sedation [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. xx

I have read a BA surgery story on here where the lady was just sedated... If you did deep on the surgery stories page you may find it.
I wouldn't go for it personally, I'd rather pay extra and have a nicer experience. I also wouldn't want the surgeon to feel like he can't do his job as well like Cookie said. I think it's such an invasive operation and our breasts are so personal to us, i just can't imagine it to be a pleasant experience. X

Imagine if U could feel pain or discomfort but was unable to say.... It would put U off surgery for life.

Exactly what I thought. It's just doesn't seem worth lower fee.
I've never heard of sedation being used for biggish surgery.
Not an option for me.

It seems perculiar that they're offering what seems like it could be a more complicated procedure (for the anesthetist anyway) at a cut price. I wonder why they're offering sedation so cheap. Maybe because you'd be a day case rather than an overnight?

Mozelle83 sorry I forgot to add that its a day case. I didn't think it would make much diff.
When my sis had her BA her surgeon offered either a night at a hotel or pick up and drop off. She never stayed over.
