Advice for the man in your life
Don't know if there's a thread on this but I haven't been able to find it if there is?
Was after a "what to expect" and "what you will need to do" list
For the boy, as he seems to be underestimating my recovery period somewhat.
Actually said to me last night " oh we can go to Cheshire Oakes and I can get you all your new bras a few days after"
you can imagine my response. He seemed quite disappointed when I told him the furthest I would be going a week post op would be the corner shop and that would be 6 weeks before I'd be in a pretty bra!
Any help would be great ladies x

When you do go to Cheshire Oaks let me know which shops are good to go to. I love it there but at the same time avoid it like the plague because whenever I need to go it's school holidays and heaving.

Re: Advice for the man in your life
Thank you anyway Alice!
Mozelle, I went the week before Christmas once, BIG mistake!
They still have a La Senza outlet thereto that where I'm dying to go, a shop that either is/sells Elle McPherson lingerie, plus I love L'occitane and my face chocolate is Lindtt also they tick all boxes for me!
Oh All Saints too, and they have Amani and Fred Perry and Levi, all three are also reasons that he wants to drag me there. Have a look on the website though hun I'm sure they'll have a store listing x

Re: Advice for the man in your life
I remember seeing the Elle McPherson shop. Had a brief look in it but it was before my BA so may look again (bra shopping is much more fun now).
Usually I dive into North Face and Fat Face and then dive out again.

I'm dreading not being able to have big bear hugs or being little spoon before bed time :(
Actually did you ladies sleep on your own for the first few nights in case your partner knocks you in their sleep? x

Elles range is my VERY favourite The type of underwear set you slip on and just don't want to get dressed 'cos you'll spoil how you look! haha, they're soooo beautiful, pretty, sexy and glamorous. A definate treat for a post-oppers I feel xx
Re: Advice for the man in your life
That when you say 'ow' it means you need tea/food/attention/bum wiping/nose scratching/de-clothing/tickling/hair brushing/back rubbing... Yeah, they just need to know that they're gonna be your carer for the next week!
And also if you're driven anywhere, they need to take the corners SLOW!! - trust me!

Re: Advice for the man in your life
pussycat I agree with ALL of that haha! yesterday every corner i was going "ow" and every tiny bump in the road.
Dont want to rub it in anyone's face but Dan has been absolutely perfect. From first speaking about wanting a BA I've had 3 boyfriends including Dan and Im glad I'm going through it with him cause I cant imagine my exes being any use at all! He is soo caring and listens and I dont even need to ask him to do things. When I was in surgery he told me he was so scared and a little bit upset but he didnt show this to me, and was so happy and relieved when it was all over. He's a star!!

Aww I'm REALLY going to miss being the little spoon too!
Ladies will I really need someone to wipe my bum? My boyfriend loves me but I don't think it stretches that far! Ha!
I'm already driving him mad. I said nearly 4 days till boobie day last night and he asked does that mean you'll stop talking about it then? :(
He said he's sick of me showing him pictures of celebrities and asking about their boobs.
Who knew a guy would get fed up of looking at boobs?!
Good job I've got all you guys xxx

Re: Advice for the man in your life
You'll be fine to wipe your own bum babe lol. There are some things that are just toooooo much aren't there haha. It may feel a little awkward as your arms will feel quite restricted and weak, but you'll manage just fine. xx
Re: Advice for the man in your life
Hahah you can defo wipe your own bum bum!
Today dan helped me wash then dry then straighten my hair. Everything has been pretty much fine! I've had a couple of little trips out but literally a late evening wander at tesco and then just went to asda today for yet another bra. Nothing exciting. Feel amazing today though just having a bit of make up on xx

Re: Advice for the man in your life
Aww you really have a sweetheart there, even got him to help straighten your hair, wow :0)
Im finding it difficult to lift my arms, so settle for just having my hair washed by a friend but would love to be able to style it properly.
Wonder if many men have been asked to help with wiping bottoms, he he, just the thought of that conversation makes me chuckle

I didn't quite relegate him to the sofa, he chose to sleep there for the first three nights because he was more worried about knocking them and thought I needed the rest. Because he was on the sofa the dog crept up and slept with me but instead of hogging the bed like usual he just curled in a ball at the bottom as if he knew I wasn't quite myself.
Laura - your fella sounds like such a cutie x
