Life insurance
Hi everyone,
Getting closer to the day now and starting to plan ahead. Just wondering if anyone else chose to inform their life insurance before going for the op, it's something MyBreast advised me to do, just wondering what everyone else did? Xx

Re: Life insurance
I doubt very much any life insurance would cover you at all for 'elective surgery' babe... You can call and talk to them about this, but I very much doubt you'd have any cover. Xx
Re: Life insurance
Hi
I'm a financial adviser as my day job and there's no reason why a life insurance policy wouldn't pay out if you died during BA surgery. The main reasons why policies don't pay is suicide or non disclosure of pre existing health conditions.
Think about it this way.
If this was an exclusion everything you ever did would be excluded. You elect to drive a car, but they'll still pay out if you die in a car crash etc!!
The type of policy that probably wouldn't pay out is a health insurance plan, that pays an amount for each night you're in hospital. In this case because it's elective you wouldn't be covered.
Hope this helps.x
