Boobs feeling okay but back pain...OUCH =/
Hi everyone,
Sorry coming to have a moan! I feel a lot better today than yesterday but just feeling down about this bloomin back pain. I am trying to prop myself up in a way that it doesn't hurt but it's not working. Also, I can't find a hot water bottle! Would deep heat cream or anything work?
Also, is it normal for your boobs to get hot? and for the scars to feel a bit itchy?
xx

Is there no-one who could pop out and get you a hot water bottle or a wheat bag that you can heat in the microwave LadyV? You'll get the benefit from it for another week or two yet so it's worth paying the couple of quid to get something like that for yourself.
Try rolling a towel for now hun and keeping that wedged into the small of your back to add that additional support there for now.
Boobs feeling like sunburn and scars feeling itchy - Very normal hun! do you have any ice packs or bags of frozen peas/corn/rice anything frozen really lol. just pop those over the tops of your boobs hun, you'll get so much relief from doing that. xx

If all else fails get a sexy male (or female!) to give you a backrub. I used my poor boyfriend within an inch of his life in my first post op week - and then he must have got fed up cos he went out and bought me one of them shiatsu massage chair thingys! (bless!)
Other than that... What cookie said!

HI
I'm feeling the pain of the backache worse than the boob ache (BA 2 weeks ago).
Why do we get this constant back ache and how long is it expected to last - it kills

The back ache was the worst part for me. And a hot water bottle was the best thing around, that and pain killers. You could try a warm shallow bath (dont get boobs or scars in water) to help relax you back muscles in ur lower back. Take pain killers and above all else watch your posture when standing and sitting as early post op we tend to hunch in a protective stance unknowingly. So try to relax your shoulders and sit s little straighter, not poker straight but less hunched over.

I bought some reusable first aid heat/cold packs from Wilko's and they were amazing! You can stick them in the microwave and use them to ease back pain or put them in the freezer and use them on sore/aches boobs! They were really cheap too so we invested in two! I wouldn't have got by without them!
I too had a moan PO, it's a nightmare constantly being uncomfortable isn't it?! Well when I did Cookie very kindly advised putting a cushion under my knees... You wouldnt believe the incredible difference it made for both comfort and easing back pain!
It does get easier though, but I'd say the discomfort is the worst part of a BA... It'll be long forgotten soon though X

Thanks -
But why do we get such bad backache?
I find that worse than the boob pain at the moment - I can't do anything without having to lie down every half hour with a hot water bottle (I also got the wilko stick on heat pads for when I'm out).

Thanks all, great suggestions. I have pillows everywhere ha ha and going to buy some ice/heat packs tommorow. Just tried to wash my hair which was a nightmare, ended up in tears as it's all getting to me as I can't do much for myself . I know it will get better though so just have to push through as all you lovely ladies have! xx

Hi ladies, is your back pain gone? Recently I had massive problems with my back and wondered if breast implants could deterioate my back? Thanks x

Hi,
My backache lasted until just gone 3 weeks. (although i do have a really bad back at the mo and off work - but that was because I fell down the stairs whilst carrying my baby!).
I don't think my new boobs effect my back now tho.
When did you have your BA?

I never had back pain after my BA...maybe its because my boobs aren't big enough to cause any! haha
I do suffer from back pain in general though, I have scoliosis so I'm a bit of a cripple haha. Can't think of a better suggestion than the hot water bottle, the only thing that sorts me out!
Blondie12 - As I said I have scoliosis which is a curve in my spine. I checked with my back specialist and my surgeon before my BA and both said getting my nice shiny boobs wouldn't make my back any worse in the future.
But I suppose it depends how big you go/went, I only had 360CC xx

I found days 6 to 10 the most painful, think it was the adjustment to going back to work? Have you started back yet?
I'm on day 15 now and feel absolutely fine, hopefully you'll be the same!!! xxx

I havnt noticed any back pain due to implants but mine only weigh 820 grams so that isn't much, its sleeping upright that's causing me abit of back ache it only goes away if I ly on my side for a few minutes so then I have to go 2 sleep as quick as I can b4 it comes back and I can't sleep lol xx

Thanks everyone xx
I've damaged my back at the gym 4 months ago doing squads. I have had back pains and tingling in my feet and arms ever since. I've tried wearing rice bags with 600 grams in sports bra and got massive back pain and tingling in my arms after 4 hours.. have amazing physiotherapist now looking after me who said that i should be sorted within the next 2 months and will be able to have my then xx
Cant wait!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Twinkle,
Yes she is fine now - thank you for asking. She is only 10 months and it was very frightening, we fell from top to bottom, but like they told me at hospital - babies tend to bounce well (we find it harder!).
She had a huge bump and bruise to her head and we spent all day in hospital but after lots of tests they said she was fine and let me take her home - she was laughing and smiling by the time we got back. Bless her, I felt dreadful for what happened, even though it was an accident.(warning - DO NOT wear flipflops down stairs whilst carrying your baby!!!).
xx
