Everyone is different so it's really hard to say.

I had unders and have had some pain since day one but nothing major and certainly not anything that's restricted my day to day activities. I haven't had kids so can't compare, sorry, but on my scale, excepting 'morning boob' which is something else entirely, it was around a 3 out of 10, with 10 being screaming agony and 1 being mild discomfort.

I've had a baby and in my opinion it's much worse than when your milk comes in. I had my pip's replaced yesterday and to be honest it's quite painful :( it was only just over 24 hours ago though. I've got coco-damols to take, on a scale of 1 to 10, right now it's 6. I can't remember what it was like 1st time around I didn't think it was as painful as this but hard to remember x

xplayboybunnyx - I should imagine with you having PIPs it's possible you might also have had a capsulectomy sweetheart. xx

I mean that had the PIPs bled/ruptured or your surgeon just thought it best to do this with you having PIPs, your surgeon may have removed the capsule that forms around the implant along with with you PIPs. This isn't normally done with a straight forward replacement, but with PIPs and the pain you're describing babe, I really wouldn't be surprised if a capsulectomy was performed also... nothing at all to worry about though sweetness. xx

Ohh, no my PIP's were 100% intact, I've got them in a plastic bag on my kitchen table as we speak How much pain are we talking??? 557141 I didn't know a capsule formed around the implant, does that happen for every implant? :S he did do a nipple lift (moved my left nipple to the side) and he done something to one of the scars, so I'm wondering if these extra tweaks are causing more pain than a straightforward take them out put new ones in job. x

The extra work will have made for a far more invasive surgery for sure than your other BA sweetheart yes

Due to your bodys natural reaction to having a foreign body placed inside you (breast implant) a capsule does form around all implants babe. yes only if felt necessary would your surgeon perform this. If your PIP are intact then I doubt your surgeon may have performed a capsulectomy then. The additional pain must be coming from the more invasive suregry you had sweetheart. Hug

Ahh I see :) he didn't mention anything about that, so I'm assuming that didn't happen? He just said my pip's were 100% intact. Must be.. I didn't think it would make much of a difference but it's quite painful :( only day 1 though!x

everyone is different with how much pain they will have after a op so its hard to say......some girls feel very little pain if any and I have even read some girls went shopping 2-3 days after there op ( which I most certantly do not advise!) but then you get people who are like me & really suffered with pain for at least the 1st week or 2......I think the discription of it feeling like when your milk comes in is a very good way of discribing the pain......

Also most people say unders cause more pain after op then overs as its more a invasive surgery not just on your breast tissue but the chest muscles are involved.......

Youll be find hun, at the end of the day if you are in pain then ask for some strong pain killers before you leave the hospital to go home

Hey honeys!

I would describe the aftermath as more as a discomfort than pain (in my case anyway). I think I got off lucky. I had unders and I felt like I'd done about 300 press ups! But I didn't take any painkillers at all after my op until day 3 when I took a couple of paracetemol.
I would have another BA tomorrow if I had to choose between a tooth extraction and a boob job!!

Post by SunshineLady 27th May 2012, 7:20 am

Hiya, I'm 3 days post op and have had unders. I would say the pain for me has been a 3, the most difficult part was the morning boob on day 2 as that felt really uncomfortable, but already I can feel things being loads better.

It feels tight and tender around your chest, similar to when your milk comes in. Also your pec muscles are quite tender making sitting up a bit of a challenge if you've been lying down for a while!

It will feel uncomfortable for a couple of days Hun, but it also starts to get better very quickly, I promise it's nothing you can't handle. You will be fine. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions and I'll try to help as I was really nervous about the pain before the op as well xxxx Hug

Post by EmmaArden 28th May 2012, 7:36 am

I didnt really have much pain when i was on pain killers. Straight after my op after sleeping i was going to the toilet moving the tv around my bed, next day when i was going home i was putting my make up on. and got changed into my clothes and was fine. HOWEVER. when the painkillers woreoff...i had a pain down my left side which was really quite painfull. when waking up in my hospital bed and wanting to move position wasquite difficult. My advice would be to have some tablets near you for when youslept so when you wake up you can take them and lie there until the pain subsides. i was then uncomfortable for a bit and my back was aching and wasnt comfortable ever! i went shopping though after a couple of days (only a short one) and my back was killing me :( but after about a week i was fine no pain! I just couldnt sleep on my front and then had pain in the morning when i was getting up but other than that i was fine :) xxx
