Update with work
Some of you will have read my concerns for coming back to work this week following my BA and what my colleagues would do/say since word got out. To fill in those who don't know, I'm the only girl in my area with 30 so men to 5 women working in our building.. So I'm overly populated with testosterone which made me really worried when gossip had got back about my BA.
Yesterday they were fine, some avoided the issue and three kept it simple and just asked how much it had cost, if it hurt and whether it was worth it. I didn't mind their curiosity, and while I didnt shout it from the rooftops I did answer their questions. That was the end of it, at least until today.
So in comes one of them (in his late 50's) and starts going on infront of me and the person I was working with saying innapropriate, pervy comments about my boobs.
I told him to shut up and that it was a strictly no comment area, to which he replied I should have saved more because they weren't very big.
I was fuming! I've had them done because I've always felt small, inadequate etc so hearing people STILL take the **naughty word** for having supposedly small boobs really quite upset me.
I finished my work and decided I was going to nip it in the bud so went straight to my manager and explained the situation. He said he would have a word and that it wasn't fair but I generally got the jist he wasn't prepared to take my complaint seriously which is what I expected, he's not the firmest of managers.
If it continues I'm going straight to the general manager, there is no way my boobs should be the topic of perverted comments or nasty opinions.
Ok rant over! Thanks for reading and giving me a place to vent girls, sometimes here is the only place I feel comfortable to say certain things!x

Re: Update with work
Hi altw, i'm sorry to hear this because I know how stressful it is when the workplace becomes your daily nightmare. I used to have a manager from hell. Anyways, I think you did well reporting it to the manager... but if I were you, I wouldn't give them any further information about your BA even if they ask you nicely. I would tell them "no offense but change subject". I would also be fuming if someone told me that they still look small, but that shows how stupid these men are and they associate boob jobs with the porn look! And I promise you altw, yours are a very good size and don't let anyone change your mind

Re: Update with work
Sorry to hear this Alice.
In my opinion, it is beyond a joke and I would take it further. You have been open minded enough to realise there will be comments however I think this man went too far and why a man of his age thinks it funny to make such comments to a young girl is bloody disgusting. My dad is mid 50's and he would not dream of making such comments to women, i am appaled.
I know how crappy it is to have your breasts the topic of discussion, it was much the same at my old job "you wear the wrong bra" etc etc I could go on. But I was young and never stood up for myself.
How dare he. If you do decide to take it further for his innapropriate comments, at least you have a witness.
Sorry you've had to deal with this today xxx

Re: Update with work
Alice try not to worry too much and what ever you do dont let the guy in his 50's know you are bothered or upset as if he knows he is getting to you he will do it more. Some people are just like that and bullys. He will have said the comment about them not being that big as a put down to you after you told him to shut up. xx

Re: Update with work
When I was 19 I was sexually harassed by my 53 year old manager so it's not my first experience with innapropriate older men! Unfortunately the first time I didnt stand up for myself but I've learnt my lessons! I'm old enough to be his daughter, it's disgusting and shouldn't be accepted behaviour whether it's from this guy or any of the others.
If it continues I will take it further, I don't come to work to be someone else's joke. I just hope word spreads and they learn to keep their mouths shut.
@ xaxa entirely good advice, giving them any info about my BA only creates a grey area for what may or may not be ok to talk about. I'm hoping word will spread that my boobs have a no-go zone
Thanks to all of you girls though, it's good to have support! X

Honey, thats basically sexual harrassment! I'd warn him not so politely that you'll go to management if he so much as glances in your direction again! x
