Worried about my scar :(
Hi guys
Just a slight concern I took my steri strip off the other night and in one of my incisions I have slight yellowy/redish pus on the strip I have like a little hole slightly bigger than a pin hole at the end of my scar. I cleaned it and put the strips back on and tonight when I changed them again the same thing happened, I'm really worried now and also feel like I have bruised ribs on the same side. Please help! I'm gonna call the clinic tomorrow though.

Re: Worried about my scar :(
Moved to the general BA forum honey as will get more replies here
I had something very similar at the end of one of my incisions hun, it just took a little longer to heal than the rest. As long as you have no fever, redness/swelling at the site, large amounts of pusy discharge or pain I dont think its too much to be concerned about, but obv I cant tell you without seeing it. Give your clinic a call for peace of mind x

Re: Worried about my scar :(
Thanks hun, no I don't have fever or pain or anything just a bit itchy that's all. I'll give them a call tomorrow to make sure though. I've let my incisions breath a little but not gonna go to bed without steri strips on as I don't think I will feel comfy! :) xx

Re: Worried about my scar :(
I had this too sweetie, the yellowish secretion is liquid fat. It's normal and nothing at all to worry about hun.
If you're overly concerned about it though lovely, just give your clinic a quick call and ask to be seen, even if only to get some reassurance. xx

Re: Worried about my scar :(
haha xx as lovely as that sounds, I would be inclined to keep it CLEAN and then covered so that no infection can work it's way in xx

Re: Worried about my scar :(
me too - had exactly the same as you - I rang the clinic - they asked me to come in - was told exactly the same as the other ladies have advised you already.
They had a little look, said all was fine/normal and re-dressed it - I had cleaned wth cooled/boiled water and put new steris on at home when I found the icky bit - they said Id done a good job!
It was nice to hear it from the horses-mouth though so to speak. x
