Re: Letter of complaint to MYA
They have a 20 day period before they have to get back to you with complaints hun as an investigation into the allegations will have to made. You may hear sooner than that but I just didn't want you to be fretting as I'd be I know if I hadn't realised. So hopefully you'll hear something very soon, but if you don't, don't panic, just go from the day you sent your letter and give them till 20 days from then hun. xx
Re: Letter of complaint to MYA
oh sorry I did hear back from my complaint yesterday by Clare. Her and Julie said they were speaking to Mr Russo today and would call me so just waiting to hear about that chat. Been really nervous cause once they speak to him I'll know whether it's a yes/no depending on him getting more info from my GP xx

It still could be a while before any definite decision is made hun, I know from experience how communication between one person to the next in this field can take an age! but got my fingers crossed for you that you do hear back from them soon. xx
Re: Letter of complaint to MYA

Re: Letter of complaint to MYA
another update... I got a call from Julie around 8pm, she said they hadnt been able to speak to mr russo until late cause of his consultations. apparently he says that he'd be happy to do my op if Im willing to sign a disclaimer. Im guessing saying that I wont go off it if I have the op and regret it or something seeing as Im all depressed and psychotic lol. So I guess this is good news! Although we have to wait for the thumbs up from head office before I can go in and sign this thing. Obviously I can read through the whole thing before I sign anywhere.
In the mean time Julie is going to check his schedule and find a new date for me. Fingers crossed this doesnt take long!!!!
Oh and regarding the money I lost for the hotel and the time my boyfriend took off work what do you think I should do? I did mention it to both Julie and Jenny but there's been no further mention of any compensation for it.. obviously they wouldn't bring it up haha. what would you do?

Re: Letter of complaint to MYA
Bless your heart, I hope they don't keep you waiting too long sweetness
As for the compensation, yes, of course you should seek to reclaim this. As far as you were concerned you were all set for surgery and had made plans for this. It's not your fault MYA left your checks on medical history till last minute hun it's theirs! xxx

Re: Letter of complaint to MYA
Aww didn't know this happened, how crappy. Can't believe they done that. I had to fill a health questionnaire in and take it to my first consultation, I was going to lie about my past depression/ suicidal thoughts and 1 attempt, incase it affecting wether they would operate or not however thought it best I didn't and surgeon asked if he could contact my doctor if he wanted to regarding anything so glad I didn't lie n nothing was ever bought up about it. Find it very poor that they left it to the last minute. Well done on the email you sent them, push for comp to get your costs back and hope you get a date very soon. Xxx

Re: Letter of complaint to MYA
Totally agree push to get compensation for the hotel/time off work. Argue that you'd given them prior warning but they chose to act last minute.
Fingers crossed your op date is ASAP! Will be by far worth it when you get them!x

Re: Letter of complaint to MYA
hmmm I'm alright, went out for lunch with my boyfriend so that was nice :)
To be honest this whole issue is constantly in my mind and I keep having a little sigh and feeling down then getting on with things. Nobody got back to me yesterday like they said they would. Julie promised she'd check Mr Russo's schedule and get back to me with possible dates I could have my op. It's still a waiting game to hear back from head office anyway though to see if me signing this disclaimer is ok.
I sent a message to the other girl I came across who had her op cancelled the day before too, and she said she got a free overnight stay after she complained. I'm paying an extra £400 or something to have travel and overnight stay lol.
Thanks for thinking of me girlies :) xx

Re: Letter of complaint to MYA
I'd tell them about the other girl and her compensation Laura and you'll probably get the same!
I can only imagine how difficult this whole ordeal is for you, we're all right behind you though sweetie so anytime you need a rant or just a shoulder to lean on, you know where we are xx

One word of caution here... check with the other girl if she signed any compensation agreement or anything that states she is not to disclose the terms of the compensation with anyone. If she has then this is a legally binding agreement and quoting her terms of compensation could get her into a lot of trouble.
She may not have done and you'll be okay to reference her compensation. Or if she has signed something you could ask how they have dealt with similar situations i.e. last minute cancellation through no fault of the client.
Just a thought.

Re: Letter of complaint to MYA
No names need not be disclosed. The fact that they've offered this compensation to others should be enough

Re: Letter of complaint to MYA
Yeah I would only mention it in the way I have mentioned it here really, I'm not sure of her name anyway just her username hehe. I'm gonna message her back and ask a bit more, and I'm gonna call Julie today too and see what's going on xx
