I was thinking the same thing... It's a big thing to have to deal with, and beating depression should be commended, it shouldnt backfire against you, and definitely not as a nasty last minute shock like that. Trust me, I know xxx
I hope you get your new date soon and they don't keep you waiting any longer than you need too.

First of all huge for you Laura xx
Secondly, I think this is utterly disgraceful and am really angry about how you have been treated xx
It's just not acceptable the afternoon before your operation, which has been PAID FOR IN FULL, for them to call you and cancel and give the grounds that they have given!! xx This should all have been covered in your preop hunni, that's what it's for xx
If I were you I would tell them that you are seriously considering requesting a FULL refund PLUS compensation for the hotel and leave etc etc that you had arranged xx The way they have treated you has infuriated me.........
I certainly wouldn't be beholden to them xx I know that at the moment you are upset gorgeous as is understandable, however I think that in time you are also going to become very angry about the way the have treated you at the last minute xx
I never even told my doctor about my op, non of their business as far as I am concerned!!! xx and any depression that I may have suffered in the past was ALSO non of my surgeon's business xx
Thinking of you Laura xx and sending you xx whenever someone from MYA has the common courtesy to explain matters to you, give 'em hell girl!! ATEOTD YOU ARE THE CUSTOMER!! xx

Totally agree with everything here!
If this was me I'd be taking my money and going elsewhere! Total lack of confidence in MYA.
I really think you should look into other clinics and surgeons even if you don't book any consultations maybe just do some research and weigh up your options for now between going with MYA or elsewhere.
You've been treated poorly from the start, I don't think they deserve your custom, they're clearly quite incompetent and yes you'll get some of the problems with others but not at all to this extent! X

I have no doubt they will give you another date, one that is convenient for them xx
Call me cynical, but this smacks of them messing you about because of something they are not telling you, ie its not convenient for them, or they have too many booked........

Re: Good luck Letfreedomsing! - BA date 09/05/12
I have an A4 sheet of paper with notes on what I'm not happy with so I'll have this at hand when I finally speak to someone.
I asked when mr russo was given my gp letter as Id like to know how much time he had so the nurse is going to find out. She said on the phone that obviously a lot of people take citalopram and that's not the problem, it is details from my doctor about how I was in 2008 and mr russo wanting to make sure I'm ok to have this surgery as they take depression seriously as a company... :S okaayy. I still can't really believe this has happened cause it never even crossed my mind that there would be a problem!! I signed a consent form for them to contact my doctor cause it seemed like protocol and I dont have any physical problems so I thought it'd be fine!
I am really angry but to be honest I like what I'd heard about mr russo's surgery that he does a good job, neat scarring etc. I feel like I dont have the energy to start all over again after such a long time researching, consultation after consultation, trying to find the money. But then what if I settle things, get a new date and end up having some other disaster, aftercare problems, etc etc? You never know the best route to take or what to do for the best

Sounds like a very good idea writing down your points to make and finding out how long he's known about it.
Although, if they do take depression seriously as they say and are looking out for your well-being then why are they putting you through this unnecessary trauma?
I know you've come a very long way and so I hope MYA get back to you ASAP and don't leave you hanging on - voicing your concerns should speed this up in finding a new op date to suit YOU, not them! Don't think youd ever be starting from scratch if the outcome isn't what you want though. You have the knowledge of exactly what you want, you have the money (possibly more so because I think MYA is a little more ?) and the girls on here would also help you research surgeons and clinics. So don't think MYA is the start and end to it all because you will ALWAYS have options and ALWAYS have us here too

thats what I was saying to my mam lol this trauma is making me bloody miserable!!
I dont even know if I could get a full refund at this point? Paid £500 deposit then it was £4250 in total.
I dont know if its worth getting this thread moved to the boob diaries section where I could continue writing in it? since its already got so much in it about this pile of pap that was supposed to be my big day lol
xx

Maybe someone like Cookie can confirm whether you're entitled to a full refund? I'd say so though as they went against what you'd agreed upon and I'd definitely be trying to get it back!
I absolutely feel for you though, I expected this to happen to me all the way through that someone would cancel my op! You will appreciate them 10000 times more when you finally get your bubble butt babies though haha x

Re: Good luck Letfreedomsing! - BA date 09/05/12
another thing I just remembered to whinge about! My boyfriend pointed out today its funny how hard it is to get in touch with someone when you need them, but remember those annoying phone calls I was getting CONSTANTLY a couple of weeks back? that was MYA's finance people.. what a surpriiiiise!! They rang 10+ times a day for ages, hung up when I answered, sometimes talking in the background then hung up. Eventually someone would speak and basically ask me when I'd be paying my final balance. I was panicking so badly getting really upset in case my op had to be cancelled cause I hadnt paid in time. Look what went and happened anyway!! pfffft

Hmmm I dislike MYA more and more, you'd think you were asking for a reop the way they are going on!
Go to Transform and use the £255 you save on nice bra's and other treats, sounds like you bloody need them X

I know Cookie had a rough time, however Transform treated me brilliantly hun xx Paid for two reops and all associated costs, including travel, hotels etc etc xx it was just the cr@p surgeon that let them down xx
You wouldn't be cancelling would you, THEY have cancelled on you!! xx
I would definitely consider walking away xx
I DIS-believe them even more now that they are questioning depression from 4 years ago

Re: Good luck Letfreedomsing! - BA date 09/05/12
I was telling my Mum (She's a community nurse for the NHS) - I hope you don't mind - and she said you can argue that they're discriminating against you, as A LOT of people suffer from depression and it's extremely common. so op or money back whichever you prefer.
I've also had a great experience with Transform so far, my PCC has rang back straight away whenever I've had questions, never had finance harrassing me and my surgeon was entirely realistic and up front (which is what helped me trust him). It may be down to where you are though, some clinics although the same company may offer different levels of service. X

I know it all seems to depend on the people. At the end of the day with each company there will be people working for them who make all the difference whether good or bad. I will just have to keep you all informed of what happens and I'll defo be asking for further advice!

Re: Good luck Letfreedomsing! - BA date 09/05/12
I just found a post on a forum by a girl who's surgeon point blank refused to operate on her because she had a history of an eating disorder in her records!! I actually felt a bit of relief thinking wow this kind of thing does happen to other people not just me. So maybe theyre not fibbing and he is genuinely concerned about operating on me for personal reasons? Not that that excuses leaving it until the day before. This girl got told 8 days before her op that it was cancelled

Re: Good luck Letfreedomsing! - BA date 09/05/12
I'm pretty sure that the way it will go is that they will come back to you at their convenience and tell you that it's all fine and they will operate on you no problem xx and you will get the B@@bs of your dreams xx
However, these companies and Surgeons get right on my T!TS with the way they treat people, (customers), ESPECIALLY after they have your money!!! it's a disgrace IMHO xx What exactly are they delaying it for?? They can't even give you a reason xx It is definitely a question you need to ask xx
I feel so bad for you, having been there (3 times), I can totally understand how awful this is for you, and just how upset you must feel xx it's just not acceptable to do that to someone at the last minute! and then to leave you just hanging.......it's disgusting x
Millions of people suffer with / have suffered depression, bipolar, psychosis etc etc and have surgical procedures xx I think Mr Russo needs to get over himself!!!! We are talking 4 years ago here..........not 4 weeks!!
I've gone right off him.......

I feel like this (even though I'm not even older) its just awful on their part... I want a little bjsf army to go in and force Mr Russo to have a pair of implants surgically attached to his back to give him something to be depressed about.. X
