Post by *Alice* 1st May 2012, 10:30 pm

Probably pointless asking as we all have different experiences, but how long did you take for swelling to go down?

I've been wearing 34D bra's since my op and they're just cheap ones from Tesco and Sainsburys because I'm usually a 32. I have 32D Shock Absorbers ready for when the swelling goes down and was wondering when I can start squeezing back into these?

The 34s are feeling a bit loser since hospital, but it's only been since Saturday so I don't know if they're just not supportive enough or not tight enough?

I've always worn 32's on the tighest hook... So maybe the loosest would be ok? I don't want to cause damage wearing something too tight though? But feel like I want the extra support?

I got some swelling between my boobs that lasted a week. I didn't wear a bra first week, but I tried my 32 Macom when it came through the post to make sure it was fine before I washed it, and it fit me comfortably, so in my case swelling didn't take me up a band size. However, I do find the Shock Absorber to be on the tighter side of 32, I wear it on the loosest setting xxx

I'm also a 32 band hun, I wore the 34 band for 10 weeks due to swelling, I had swelling between my breasts for months! but just had my surgeon keeping an eye on that for me.... As my band size reduced, so did my upper pole, I was a 34DD and was sized again at 12 weeks as I was allowed to wear wires then JOY! HAHA. I found that in those 2 weeks, between 10 and 12 weeks post op I was able to go back to wearing my 32 band but was busting out of the DDs and was fitted into a 32F....

I haven't changed size since I was 12 weeks post-op.

Wow such a long time to be wearing sports bras! Would it cause me problems if I fit into a 32 again now? I'm on the tightest hook on the 34s now and if I pull it's a bit slack. I think 32 may be a bit squashed but maybe that's better to keep them more secure? Or would it encourage swelling again?

Also while you're here I want more Cookie expert insight haha. Is it possible they'll go bigger than a D when they've dropped? (I have overs) or do overs tend to not change too much? Obviously that's a stab in the dark, as we're all different... Just wondered if it was a possibility?x

Not everyone will 'fluff' altw. but in the whole time I've been a member of BJSF I've known of only a couple of members who haven't. Overs do have as much chance of fluffing as unders do gorgeous, I have overs and like I said went from a DD to an F.

It's not going to cause you any harm at all going to a 32 band either babe as long as you're 'comfortable'. Sportsbras should fit snugly but be comfortable at the same time so if you think coming back down to your 32 band is going to achieve that lovely, then that's what you should do. xx

Thanks for the info! Think I'll give my 32 a go tomorrow and see how I get on :)

As for fluffing that's good to hear! Although its all an improvement so I won't worry if I'm one of the odd few who don't!x

My 34 macom was tight immediately post op, but i was back in 32 band bras on day 3. But sleeping in my macom.

It might be worth trying 32 in the day and 34 for sleeping as you don't need as much support then and it might give your incisions a rest from the pressure.x

I gave the 32D shock absorber a go today and it was major tight but kind of comfortable to have my boobs unable to move or wobble... Or atleast for a few hours.

Wow am I in pain now?!!! I feel like they've been squashed like a stressball, my nips have always been a bit sore but now they're even worse!

The 34D doesn't feel supportive enough though! But it's only cheap ones from sainsburys/Asda so maybe I should just get a bigger Shock Absorber? Is it ok to try them on in the shop... Or is that a bit risky without washing them at home first? I still have my big plasters on covering the incisions until Tuesday!

I would invest in a bigger Shock absorber xx

Perhaps get one off Ebay then you can wash it at home before wearing

i have a 32 E shock absorber high impact and another on the way but coming in a 32F because the E is far too tight so i cant wait to see if this one fits:O but im in 32 E cheap sprts bras and debenhams ones
i feel the exact same when i ware my shock absorber its like so much support untill you take it off and the weight feels unbelievably heavy.
but when you ware the normal sports bras its like, is this even doing anything for me. lol
i started waring 2 .. a cheap normal sports bra from asda 34 E and a high impact 34 E from tesco more like a crop top kinda thing but wow i feel loads better. not squashed around my band and i dont get any kind of wobble. phew. lol

Yeah I couldn't work out which was the uncomfortable bit the boob tightness (which I'm obviously hoping haha) or the band? But the cheap 34ds feel lose and wobbly! To be fair I have a stretchy "sports bra" from when I had small ones might squeeze that over!x

Wow Crystal that is a lot of swelling! The 34s I wear at the moment are fairly slack on the tightest one.. Usually losen it off when I'm in bed though.

Think I'll just try 34d shock absorbers from eBay... I'll have a entire wardrobe full of sports bras at the end of this from my mission to find the comfy one  X

Haha! I've already noticed loads of swelling has gone from around my boobs, I can feel the implant a lot more! Might slip an old bra on backwards and see what I'm dealing with (in terms of swelling, not to see whether I'd suit a pair of back boobs Hysterical ) x

Snap! I spent most of the first week thinking "wow, this is a breeze!" I think a combination of coming off of cocodamol and numerous nights of poor sleep are just making it all gradually worse! X
