Re: Hospital Group - worrying info?!
Size wise I think it all depends on your body type, I have 525's size 10 and too me I can't feel that they are heavy because they are in line with my body, I believe if my surgeon felt they were going to be too big for my frame then he wouldn't have offered them. If I were a size 6/8 and had them then probably they would bear on my shoulders and back as I would be top heavy.
I still can't see how they have put a bad report out for them, I mean the hospital was immaculate, the staff were amazing, they were there at every beck and call, the food was lovely and they also treated my partner great, always offering drinks.

Re: Hospital Group - worrying info?!
Just thought i'd let you know what I thought about Dolan Park and the care I recieved there.
Friendly staff upon arrival and on being taken down to my room, which was clean, as you would expect a side room would look in a hospital ward but with a flat screen TV and nice little en-suite.
Nurses were very nice and happy, the aneasthatist was direct, but knowledgable and concerned. (Told him of my phobia of needles and he was just lovely)
Mr Hassan, well, he is just a very nice, knowledgeable, approachable, caring gentleman.
The nighttime nurses were nice enough, one who was looking after me was supposed to wrap me in a figure of eight bandage, but it when she took it off I noticed it only went under and over one boob...
It was quite noisy during the night on the ward but you know thats what is to be expected at a working hospital really. If you want to sleep wear ear plugs.
The kitchen staff were lovely espeially a young man who came in to as me if i wanted any food, I said no but he said hed make me something up and leave it in the kitchen just incase, bless him haha.
So over all 10/10 really.
Loobs xx

Re: Hospital Group - worrying info?!
Maybe the report was not about the care given in the hospital, but care given when complications arise after the initial op, ie like many other companies, they dont really want to know?
Re: Hospital Group - worrying info?!
Hi All,
I am so considering going to see Mr S. Hassan THG but havent seen any of his work, would anyone be kind enough to let me have a look at any of their pics.
I am newish on here, have been on another website for a long time, and been to see 4 surgeons so far, not entirely happy with offering or aftercare so on another mission to find the surgeon that I am happy with.
Thanks in advance

Re: Hospital Group - worrying info?!
I wouldn't worry, I was worried when I read the report (which is why I started this topic). But I couldn't fault the hospital, how I was cared for or any of the staff. x

Re: Hospital Group - worrying info?!
Hmm... I remember my room being okay, there was dead flies everywhere like I have to say, although my window had been open. But my bed and bathroom were clean.
Also there was a really horrible nurse (Stella) who upset me and was a complete bitch but the night time nurses were absolutely outstanding, really attentive and caring, and nothing was too much trouble.
I would go there again despite the flies!

Re: Hospital Group - worrying info?!
The CQC should be scrapped xx they are utterly useless xx
I would personally ignore any report written by them and work off of reviews from other service users xx
CQC carry out 'inspections' and then make 'recommendations' based on the 'inspectors' subjective opinion of what they found xx
They cannot enforce any of the recommendations and nothing happens if the facility does not implement the changes that they recommend xx IMHO the CQC and their 'inspectors' do nothing more than justify their jobs and the existence of the body with the recommendations they make and the reports they write..... nothing more, nothing less x
They are a government quango that should be scrapped xx
Sorry for the rant

Re: Hospital Group - worrying info?!
I had by BA at Dolan Park on 30th May. The room was basic but clean. I was very disapointed with my care. I was left all day on my own - nobody would come in to check I was ok, despite being on my own and informing them on arrival that I was very nervous. My op was not until 8pm. Once I returned to my room I was not ever asked if I wanted a drink or anything to eat. One of the night nurses was horrible and hurt me several times by not being gentle. I was treated like a nuisance. The next morning I was given some toast and a cup of tea and told to get up and ready - this was at 6am. I didn't actually get collected until 12. From reading other peoples posts I think I was just unlucky with the nurses I had - although I briefly had one called Jason and he was lovely. Not sure I'd go back again though from this experience.

Re: Hospital Group - worrying info?!
Hi Meemoo! Jason my first point of contact and he was so so lovely! They also forgot about me after my op, I hadn't eaten since 7am that morning and I didn't get to eat til the NEXT DAY!! As they kept forgetting to bring me any food in after my op. The nurse I mentioned was really **naughty word**, she took me to the operating room and on the way up I was telling her how scared I was, she then said "what?" and when I looked at her she was playing in her mobile!! Disgusting. Everyone else was nice though, but unfortunately it's the bad ones we remember!

Re: Hospital Group - worrying info?!
Meemoo im so sorry to hear of the experience you had, it seems so very different to the place i went when I had mine, they checked me every hour even less on occasions and always offering me drinks and my partner and the nurses were very nice, its a shame that the different type of nurses you get can ruin your experience and put shame to the company. Like pussycat mentioned it is the bad ones we tend to remember and they outcast the good things that happen unfortunately.

Re: Hospital Group - worrying info?!
Im also really sorry to hear of the bad experiences. Its really not something you expect when youre going through major surgery! As I say I couldnt really complain about my care while i was @ THG Bromsgrove and Mr Hassan is my hero!
isothero what aftercare package have you gone with? I cant share my pictures with you as I dont have any up on picturetrail, but I had a full uplift and im very pleased with my results, and the scaring is minimal (so far) around my extensive incisions. No complaints from me. Hope this helps. x
