Post by Boobiesplease! 16th October 2015, 9:09 am

Hello, I've booked with the hospital group and paid. My op is in two weeks. I'm a bit concerned that no one has really discussed much about my implants with me. I have chosen 400cc but no one has asked me about profiles nor was my bwd measured. also they said I could have allergen natrelle or motiva implants but no one has finalised with me which ones I've chosen. Is it a case of them being such a big hospital that they just have them all in stock and they will decide this on the day, or do I need to ask to see the surgeon again?

Thanks

So when you had the consultation dos the surgeon not measure you? He would have had to measure you to know what size implants you can have! It is often the case that you would have just one consultation and go straight for surgery, so don't worry if you've only had one appointment but he surely would have measured you? If not then I would call and make an appointment asap!

That is exactly how my PS measured me so I am guessing this is the norm. If you still have questions about the implants you can arrange another appointment.

Oh I feel better about that! Did he decide the profile or did you get a choice on the day/ beforehand?

If it helps (not THG) my surgeon chose the profile for me.

And to add to that, I don't remember it being discussed in my consultation. I think he told me after the op when he confirmed the size (it might have been before but it's all a bit hazy) but I had complete faith in him doing whatever was necessary to give me the best aesthetic result.

We had 3 choices in size but PS is going to see what looks beast whilst in surgery. he told me what implants he used. it wasn't till after I came out that I had forgot to ask questions regarding profiles amongst other things that slipped my mind so I have got a 2nd consult in November. Only this time I will be more prepared with a notepad with questions and also some pictures of boobs I like and don't like. I have also asked to try the sizers on again too.

He would have taken you profile into account when choosing the implant size. Like I said before, there's only a narrow margin to work with, so if you've described what you want, and he understands, he would have chosen the best implant for you.

They don't have a mass of implants on hand, they do order them in, so I'd get on the phone or email to your pcc to confirm if he's ordered a particular implant, and ask what profile it is.

They won't now contact you until they need your pre op info, so any and all questions, get in touch with your pcc.

My consultations sound similar to yours. My consultant decided what profile would be best for my shape and did the similar measurements that you describe. xxx

If you have any concerns or last minute niggles  its better you sort it out before your op as you want to be going into surgery as confident as you can be about implant choices an the results you are hoping to achieve.
I would give them a ring and discuss things even if it is just for some reassurance! Hug

Yes kind of. Quite nervous too! A family member called this morning to offer me the money that I'd originally put on finance so I have cancelled that and paid the cash too as they don't want any interest back from me, and the loan interest was 20%
I am most nervous about having the anaesthetic I think, I know I will freak out on the table!
I also got offered a new job this week and got a new boyfriend so I feel a bit like the boobs are making everything fall into place haha!

That's great news.

2things - 1) don't trust their DD. It's always a DD. They have no way of knowing what size you'll come out. Get yourself fitted pre op to give you a better idea for post op.
2) the GA will be fine. These people are specially trained for it, plus if anything does happen, you're in the perfect place for it, a hospital! The only thing to worry about is if you have the tiny veins of a shrew like me, ask for the magic cream on the day, as they have to go in your hand. I asked them to use an arm, but they prefer not to so you don't bash it with your boobs! The nurses are lovely at Dolan park, you'll be absolutely fine.
