Bra shopping-HELP!!!!!
I gave into temptation yesterday and decided I could not wait an longer to start trying on new bras (am 2 1/2 weeks post op). I was a 38 A/B cup before and struggled to find bras that fitted and so had this idea in my head that following my surgery I would suddenly find a huge selection of amazing bras to choose from......NOT THE CASE :-(
Went to M & S but did not get measured as felt a bit embarrassed about the the scary looking attendant seeing my steristrips so took matters into my own hands and ended up trying on about 50 bras in most sizes available. I think the best fit was probably a 36F, which was quite a shock as I had expected to be a DD which is what I am wearing as a sports bra.
Anyway, the only bras available in this size were white and very frumpy- I wanted something with a plunge effect to go with all my new tops I have been buying to show my new figure off!
The other big problem was the fit. I have high profile over implants with a very obvious seperation in between and I didnt feel that any of the bras were really a good fit.
I know its early days and my shape will probably change yet again, but can anyone recommend any good places for larger bra sizes and also for high profile BA boobies please?

Re: Bra shopping-HELP!!!!!
The reason you're not finding bras to fit lovely is because they aren't ready yet to be fitted into wired bras.
At just 2 1/2 weeks your breasts are sat high and full at the upper pole, in time they'll drop and lose some of the upper pole filling out the lower pole of the breast.
See this thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to better explain, you may need to give the diagram a moment to load though lovely.
You may also want to think about the pressure the wires are putting on your fresh scars babe, it really is best to leave them well alone.
And lastly, the size you are now, is NOT your resulting size. Your breasts have so many changes to go through till they get to their final destination and settle to a normal looking breast that will nicely fill a bra. As the implant drops and falls down into the pocket as explained in the diagram, this is when alot of us 'fluff' the lower pole pushes the breast forward increasing in breast size...
Just for example, I was wearing a 32DD sports bra. My resulting size at 12 weeks post-op was 32FF.
Buying bras just now will only be a waste lovely. I know and understand how impatient we can get after surgery but you really do need to give your new breasts time babe to get the best result possible from them. xx

Re: Bra shopping-HELP!!!!!
Thankyou! I know I was being too impatient but I was just so desperate to have a look at what they might look like without these awful big crop top sports bras! I hadn't realised the fluffing bit would alter the projection. I shall try my best to wait and see what occurs and in the meantime get googling to see where does sell DD+ sizes in pretty styles!

Re: Bra shopping-HELP!!!!!
There's lots of places babe...hen you're ready, try Debenhams, they have a few DD+ ranges, if you have any specialist lingerie shops near you the chances are they too will stock the larger sizes in a few ranges also. A website I like called Figleaves is great too - I LOVE the Elle McPhereson range you can get from there, they really make you feel so feminine and sexy... love them!
As you've said Bravissimo is another too....
So it's not too difficult to find nice bras when you know where to shop
I like to buy myself 3 very nice bra sets, a black, a white and a nude... those 3 colours will allow you to wear anything and always have a bra to go with it...
After that, the cheaper bras like the ones in Debenhams, I buy for everyday wear, but they're still very pretty and always make me feel nice....
I'm still very much attached to me sports bras for around the house though, so don't chuck your away once you get the all clear for wires LOL. You dont realise just how cumfy that old sportsbra is till you're out of it and wires that make your boobs ache at the end of the day... xx

Re: Bra shopping-HELP!!!!!
As cookie has said it is too early and buying a bra now really would be a waste of money, you will probablly find once the swelling has gone down you wont be a 36 band, you'll be much smaller and when your boobs are about 6 weeks it may be easier to get them into a wired bra. However until they are completely soft which can take months for some peopl, you may find it hard to get a good fit or something that will give you good cleavage. Just because the firmer they are the more difficult it is for a bra to push them together.
