I didn't do the rice test sweetie but I do know you should only take it as a general guide, it's not at all accurate, it's only going to give you an idea of how you 'might' look.

I know that doesn't really help but that's just how it is babe.

Hopefully someone will be along soon who used this method to tell you their experience of the difference between rice boobs and implants. xx

I tried the rice test. It gave me a good idea on sizing, but wasnt perfect, the rice moved around too much in my tights. Obviously the implant shells are stable and cant move as much, the rice will just give you an idea.

When you go for your consultation, ask to try the same size implants in your bra, that will also give you a better idea, but wont be exact.

As for not being able to move for days - yep, that did happen with me. I still cant stretch my arms up or down very well. I guess I was quite naive when it came to pain - really didnt expect it to be as bad as it was/still is! My current motto is no pain, no gain!

How Accurate Is the Rice Test? Empty Re: How Accurate Is the Rice Test?

Post by roxanne 7th April 2012, 11:38 am

For me it was fairly reliable, and the rice size was similar to what I got. I'm really glad I tried the rice test, and spent the last week before surgery wearing them out (if you do this make sure to use two pairs of knee high pantyhose, each individually tied, you don't want a rice spill in public Shocked )I wasn't sure if I was gonna have 210 or 240cc since PS was gonna decide this during surgery, so I chose to fill my rice boobies to 210 so that I wouldn't be disappointed if I didn't get the 240. I'm glad I did it this way because a lot of people would agree that you lose a size once they're in anyway. Just make sure your bra is tight, this will give you a better idea of the results, and shape them, I was flattening them in my bra as much as possible. Also, don't measure the rice by weight, measure it my volume in mls since cc is measured by volume, not weight.

I have overs, I didn't find them very sore, don't get me wrong, I was still sore, just not that much.

How Accurate Is the Rice Test? Empty Re: How Accurate Is the Rice Test?

Post by barbiegirl 8th April 2012, 8:46 pm

Hey there! I had done the rice test and it was quite accurate for me. I had overs too, i wore the rice boobs for a couple of days round the house just to get used to the size/shape in clothes/weight.. in the end i was glad i went for the larger size offered im so used to them now i love them, think i would have been dissapointed if id went for the smaller size.

Ive heard some people say on here that the implants are smaller when inside you compaired to the rice test, but for me i got the full size of the rice test, i dont know if this has anything to do with overs/unders, maybe if having unders your muscle pushes the implant back so it looks smaller?? dont know sorry.. Good luck anyway luv xxx

How Accurate Is the Rice Test? Empty Re: How Accurate Is the Rice Test?

Post by Nepoly 8th April 2012, 10:45 pm

Hiya! I loved my rice boobies!! I wore them everywhere!! for weeks beforehand too!! Here's a handy tip....I wanted to be a full C / small D, so I bought a 32C bra and put my rice boobies in that so I could get a good idea as to what 300CC would give me! I think it worked well! I got 320CC unders in the end and was a small 34a/32b with chicken fillets (everyday!!).... try them.....you'll love them!!

With regards to the pain - as I say, I had unders and the most pain was when I came round but it has been pretty much under control.....I'm still restricted with what I do but you learn to cope and it won't last forever!! AND ITS WORTH IT!!!!

Good Luck!!!xxxxx

I dont know if your hospital offers it, but if they do I would really recommend booking in to see the implant company rep (Should be free). I liked the 450 with the rice test and putting the implants in my bra at my consultant appointment, but when I went to see the rep they 450 looked really tiny! They have the implants in boobs for you to put into a bra and special vests so give a much more accurate guide of what the final look will be like once the implant is held down by your skin and tissue.
My surgeon originally suggested the 450 and said anything bigger could look too big but when I said I had changed my mind and wanted 615 as had seen the rep he said that would be fine if they fitted in as did give a much more accurate idea about the final look. I think so far the size I have come out is pretty spot on to what I saw pre-op. x

I explain it in my earlier post How Accurate Is the Rice Test? 48411

So you need the equilvalent of what you're getting in cc's in ml's, in your case 410ml. Make sure the bra you put your rice stocking in is tight for a more accurate sizing.

Yeah in each stocking. I put the rice in one stocking, and tied it, then did the same again to make another rice boobie. I also put each rice boob in another stocking since I wanted to go out with them, and felt safer if rice was protected by two layers of stockings instead of one, didn't fancy a rice spill, lol xxx

How Accurate Is the Rice Test? Empty Re: How Accurate Is the Rice Test?

Post by Aurora1979 11th April 2012, 12:04 pm

I didn't do the rice test but like Misf1 the implants I tried on looked huge on me. I was offered 460s or 525s, even the 460s looked huge on my in my bra, I thought the 525s were way too big.

I changed my mind on the day of the surgery and had the 525s and I am soooooo glad I did.

I was a full 32DD/E pre weightloss then lost 2 stone and dropped to an empty 32B/C cup which is why I wanted the op. I wanted a DD look which measures bigger than an DD measure so he added 525s and I am now a 30GG! (I lost 1.5 inches on my underbust somehow which I assume is something to do with the weight of my new boobs)
