Hi girls,

I just had a question. I was 3 weeks post op Monday and unfortunately I wasnt able to see my surgeon till March so he suggested I either take them off myself veryyyy carefully or come in and ask the nurse to.
I took them off myself sooooo carefully and I know a nurse wouldn't of been able to take them off any better then I did.
Anywho, my left incision has like a little scab on it that hasn't fully healed if you know what I mean? A bit like when you have a scab on your leg from falling over and you've had a bath and it goes all 'stodgy' and damp...

Well thats what I had and was advised from 3 weeks I am to massage my scars twice a day with some sort of scar moisturiser etc.
Will this be ok on a bit of an open scab thing?

Also that night of the first day with no dressings on it bled a tiny bit, and when I woke up I had a little patch of blood in my bra....is this normal??

Thanks girls xxxxxxxx

All normal I would say BUT keep an eye on it and try to keep it as dry as possible xx

Maybe buy some maternity breast pads to cushion it and protect your bras from marks/stains xx

I personally would NOT put anything on an open scar, big no no!! and i would not really massage or touch it or pick at it or anything xx just leave it alone xx BUT keep an eye on it xx incisions heal from the bottom up and then across the surface xx

I'm sure it will be fine, but try to leave it alone and don't bother it too much xx Hug

Hiya chloerose.

I'd hold off massaging them and puttin mosituriser or bio oil on until there are no more scabs and they've fully healed up as there is a risk of agitating the incisions and causing infection. Maybe try calling the clinic and getting their opinion? x
