Bras for post op
Confused.com ... I have my pre op this week and have been told to buy a couple of bras to try for sizing. I am an empty 34 C cup, having high profile 520cc or 560cc. I measure 30.5" under my boobs. What size bras should I buy and where from ?
I've looked at previous posts but I know there's peeps on here that have recently had op similar to my size xx

Hi hlt67
I haven't been through your experience so am only guessing here but are you supposed to take bras to try out implants in the office? If so, couldn't you just borrow from friends?? Would be a whole lot chepaer! Or maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick ?

Re: Bras for post op
Well my pcc said to take a couple so I've bought 4 today different sizes then I'll take back what I don't want. I didn't think I would have to take my own for sizing but that's what she said xx

Good idea! Well if you're taking some back, I hope they're not just bras, that they're M&S bras...

If you are 31.5 underbust then you are more likely to be a 32 but it is slightly different brand to brand.
I was 32C pre op, 31.5 under and 34.5 overbust. I had 525 high profile overs. I was wearing a classic shock absorber in 34F straight after surgery with a bra extender to allow for swelling.
I am now in a Berlei Non wired running bra in 32FF
I also have a small MaCom bra to sleep in as they are soooo comfy.
I didn't have to buy them for my pre op but I did take one of my old plunge bras (was a 32DD from when I was heavier) to try on implants and it helped a bit.
That said I thought that the 525s were far too big but so glad i changed my mind at the last minute as love them soooo much. Remember when you try them on that they look smaller when they are in you.

You have gone up a cup size as time has gone on? Is that what normally happens? I am hoping that mine are going to go down as I asked to be a D but was size checked for a 32E Shockabsorber today at Sweatshop (24 hours after stitches out). I haven't actually bought it yet as I thought I'd wait until I'm 6 weeks poost op to be more certain of what my final size is likely to be - I could get bigger??? Eeeeek !!

Aurora - F/FF sounds too big for me. It scares me. I've done the rice test tonight wearing an 34E sports bra and I did like the look of that. I've bought a bra from Asda (Total Support) & 3 from Tesco (High Impact). Are these are? I've bought in difference sizes. I'll take back what I don't need and exchange for bigger if needed. The sizing is worrying me xx

Re: Bras for post op
Hi Sue, I went up a cupsize as I dropped a band size. I am back to 31.5 now my swelling has gone down, I haven't lost any size on my boobs, so a 34F becomes a 32FF. I am 39 overbust.
The thought of being any bigger than an E terrified me then I figured an F is still easy to buy bras for. The FF is a little more tricky but I love them soooo much, wouldve made the same choice if I had the chance to turn back the clock.
Also because my hips are 39.5 I am now an hourglass so i look balanced.

Thanks Aurora, makes sense when you explain it like that. Your avatar looks great whatever the tape measure says! Must stop being scared of the final result - I hate waiting!!

I'm scared of the final result too Sue. I think it's natural to feel like this. I was excited Friday when I booked the op. Last night I was thinking oh crap what have I done xx

Re: Bras for post op
I am 5ft2, overbust 39, underbust 31.5, waist 29 and hips 39.5....
Excited, scared, all mixed emotions are perfectly normal.
I thought anything bigger than an E would look silly but I honestly love them and just look balanced.

Re: Bras for post op
I've just measured myself again, underbust 31.5, overbust 35, waist 30, hips 34. I wear a 34C but don't fill it. If I wear a 32 bra I'm not comfortable for some reason.
My friends been round today and I did the rice test lol. I said I should go to work with them in lol xx

Re: Bras for post op
I am a 34 in some brands as well even though I am 31.5 under.
There was another girl on here who did go to work with her rice boobs in and had to keep checking she didn't leave a trail of rice, lol!

Re: Bras for post op
You will be a 32 band size but will probably need a 34 or even 36 for the first few weeks due to swelling. I know you are only buying for sizeing at the moment, but just to let you know what you might need in future. It can take a little while to get used to wearing a 32 band after wearing a 34 for so long. But the band is what will give your new boobs the right amount of support.
Re: Bras for post op

Re: Bras for post op
Straight after the op I needed a 34 and put a bra extender in as well so I had an extra half cm maybe for comfort. I was back to 32s within a week.
I would guess if you go for 520s then you are looking at a 34F (32FF) not sure on the 560s.......... Misf1 is good at sizes, she got mine spot on!
