Arranging Consultations

Why am I so nervous just making the telephone calls? I feel embarrased even just talking to people about the fact that I want a BA.

I called MYA yesterday and cringed when a MAN answered and started talking to me about boobies!! I didnt even manage to make an appointment because the doorbell rang and I had to put the phone down.

I just want to have the consult and op now!

Are you normally quite a confident person then? xx

Maybe you just need a bit more info before hand hun xx sometimes a situation is so alien to us that it just makes us lose our nerve xx

You arent alone..i too am sooo nervous about even calling up for a consult let alone actually going and taking off my bra in front of the surgeon...!

So far i have booked a consult with mybreast and then postponed it by a month due to nerves amongst other reasons.. I want to book with another company that im interested in too, but so far i havent plucked up the courage!!

Good luck girls with getting consults, its hard i kept thinking 'am I actually doing this' it'll happen when your ready. I got to the hospital yesterday and had that problem at reception, I just didnt know what to say and thought i'd be judged instantly for being so young. Everyone was absolutely lovely though and I really enjoyed my stay.
You'll be able to do it when you know exactly what you want and the time is right

I definately know exactly what i want, its just getting past the pangs of guilt when you have kids and a house to support. Feels like a really selfish thing to even think about...ggrrrrr! Why do i beat myself up about this Screwy

I know what you mean, all i've had to consider is me so iv used my money on being selfish which seems fine. I appreciate its a lot harder when you have others to think about

Hi Oracle x

I guess for some people it is only natural to feel the way you do....but I bet I can guarantee that next time you have a telephone conversation about it, you won't be as nervous.....and then you will realise that it is a whole new world which has existed for a long time and so when you enter in to it, you realise that that is what it is all about and it is just the norm for everyone involved in it!

Try ringing again, or perhaps even request a call from them, that way it is out of your hands with regards to when they call....that's what I did :)

Oracle..sorry didnt mean to highjack! Just saying i know how you feel. Im sure once the first consult is out of the way it will all move along at a natural pace and we will wonder why we ever waited so long to just get stuck in and do it!! Hug

Oracle bless you it's such a personal thing to talk about isn't it, especially when it's something you are self concious about. And to a man too. I'm dreading having my boobs looked at by the surgeon on my consultation, judging them and everything, but then I think, bugg*r it! I don't care what they think!
Although it was a bit awkward when Transform rang when I was at work and I had to talk in code to them so noone twigged on in the same room as me! lol

I was, but I've not worked for a few years and my confidence is at an all time low and I'm embarassed about my diddy boobies!

I left a message on Friday morning for Spire to call me back and they havent yet - I'll give them until Tuesday and try again.
