Rippling in one breast-what causes it?
Hi girls,
I have very bad rippling in my righty. It can be felt all the time but only seen when I lay down. It's only at the bottom. What causes it and why havn't they both done it?
I had 390 unders with an uplift but they have both bottomed out and I am waiting to hear about a re-op. Wondered it might be to do with this. When I lay in the bath the right one feels like a wrinkled bag of water at the bottom. I have NAGOR Impleos but the lefty doesn't feel like it, it feels normal!
Thanks for any advice xx

butterfly my left boob feels like that and my doc said it was due the bag being filled to its minimum so it leaves some room in the back w a air bubble i've been reading some of ur other post and u and I have a lot of the same issues aka concerns my nips are also too high..I'm getting a re-op in a month

Rippling happens when there is little breast tissue present and wrinkles of the implant surface "show" through the skin. it happens more in saline implants than in silicone implants. might have something to do with them bottoming out from where u say the rippling is hopefully reop will decrease if not get rid of it xx

It happens if you had very little breast tissue or large implant, i dont have rippling but i can feel the implant or the ridges.

Re: Rippling in one breast-what causes it?
Thanks Flower11 and nikitawa86. I have gel implants though hun, what is worrying me is that I had fluid drained a week po due to swelling and my surgeon inserted a needle to drain it off. Could he have punctured my implant? I know they can't leak leak because they are the stable cohesive gel but it's strange how it feels different to the other one. As I say when i'm laying in water the left feels kinda like it isn't full enough

I have very thin skin to hun, so weird how it doesn't do it in both boobs though. I hope to be seeing my ps soon regarding the re-op so I will ask him then. Nice to hear the thoughts of others who have been through ther same worries though x

I have moderate profile, nagor impleos, stable cohesive silicone textured gel implants. They are meant to be the most resistant to rippling so you can imagine how I feel lol or cry! it's a mind boogle hey hun. I think sometimes it will just happen and as we both have thin skin must be unavoidable x

Re: Rippling in one breast-what causes it?
Yes hun, my nipples are to high and I am waiting to hear from the company I went with regarding a re-op. My surgeon thinks it's because my implants have bottomed out causing the nipples to be high so once all has gone through ie the company (MyBreast) agrees to the re-op he will reposition the implant and restitch the skin down to the chest wall-something like that lol. My mind was a blur when he was explaining purly because I can't believe I will have to go trhough it all again.
What has your surgeon said x

Re: Rippling in one breast-what causes it?
Omg! the same thing that he will remove more skin from the bottom portion of the breast and place the implant a bit higher at one point bfore they settled they looked great but aftr they dropped n settled my nipples look way to high....when I stand infront of the mirror from a side profile they look like they're more on top of my breast instead of straight forward...I hope aftrr this re-op that's it I can't afford to be taking time off from work n going thr all that pain because for me it really was painful!!

Re: Rippling in one breast-what causes it?
Hey hun, no i'm keeping the same implants. I didn't even want implants because I have always had big breasts but my surgeon said I needed an implant to get any shape back after the weightloss. My nipples are sitting right on top of the implant gazing at the stars lol and I hate it. I am so hoping my re-op goes ahead because I can't handle them looking like this anymore.
I totally understand you getting boob greed hun and if your surgeon thinks you can go up a size then go for it. I think they look a great size in your pics though hun and totally suit your frame xx

Re: Rippling in one breast-what causes it?
It may be due to the bottoming out hun, so your breast tissue will not be covering the implant so ripples are more visable. Rippling can happen, even with unders, because unders dont mean the implant is fully under the muscle, the surgeon will use partial unders/duel plane where only the top part of the muscle will cover the implant and the bottom part of the implant is only covered by your breast tissue. Hopefully when your corrective surgery pulls the implant back up to where they should be, the rippling should be covered more easily by your natural breast tissue. But I would talk to your surgeon about it. A lot of people seem to get rippling, although it is mostly felt and not seen.
Re: Rippling in one breast-what causes it?
Thanks misf1,
I had full unders but your right my ps has said due to them bottoming out they feel more like partials now so like you say my muscle isn't covering the implant. I tell you girls we shoul have a degree in boob jobs by the end of our journeys as we learn so much about it all lol xx
