day 9 and suddenly lots of pain??? Empty day 9 and suddenly lots of pain???

Post by jangledania 17th December 2011, 4:58 pm

i had been pretty lucky i thought on the recovery/ pain front- but suddenly today i am getting lots more pain. some is just shooting in both boobs, ok can expect that, but one point on my right breast is throbbing and shooying- constantly at mo! it's under the foam dressings and has hurt a bit all week but i thought the foam was just pulling a bit there, a bit tight, as i was better when i applied a bit of pressure to the area.

now it's worse, sharp n constant. i was given all clear to drive thurs, and went out yest but was very careful changin gear etc- i avoided 2nd gear as it's a bit stiff! could i have done some damage?

is this normal? i could ring the hospital to check but am feelin like i'm constantly askin them things! I go next thurs to have dressings off...hoooooray!

so- has anyone had similar? especially in one incision spot? am guessing it's just sensation coming back? ....

thanks smallblue, i hope so! tho i have done a search for similar and all seem to say it's normal....be nice to hear from someone who had simmilar to me tho. will ring hospital tomorrow if gets worse. i think its cos am getting feeling back in lower boob on right- so am aware of incisions. anyway it's all worth it! you only have 3 days to go- yipee! we are pretty much same on size so will have to compare notes once you are done!

where are you going to? hope all goes well, it's amazing when you wake up and there they are!!! good luck xx

Hi girls thanks for replies- been offline for a few days due to very annoying laptop virus!!

I necked some painkillers and told myself to relax, watched a film, and by sunday morn pains etc all gone. then it started in the leftie! now just got sensitive burny sensation. after reading lots of past posts the other night i'm now prepared for all the weird sensations and won't get so freaked!! (well, hopefully!). Can't wait to get the dressings off on thurs! dressed myself in 6 huge postop shower things over my boobs on sunday so i could wash my hair in the shower, felt great!

will try to get pics up soon, so much xmas wrapping to do!

@ Gucci- how you doing boobie day twin?!

@ Kay & Annaliese, yep I overdid it I reckon, esp the driving day 9 and suddenly lots of pain??? 869500

I feel absolutely fine now! A bit itchy on my scars & so heavy in the morning, but not too bad! All my dressings are off now, I'm a bit bruised but OK enough!

Just use your boobs as an excuse to be lazy and you'll be fine I'm sure! x

I've got the feeling back in the top of my boobs but underneath is still so numb! It feels so weird!

Definitely milk it, make noises every time you get up then your son might realise it's easier to help than have to listen to you moaning! x

enjoy the numb feeling- iot was weird but i prefer it to the sore sensitive feelin now!!! still got couple small areas numb, so glad can feel my nipples tho- was one of my paranoias losin sensation!

hmmm think he is immune to the moans, but am feelin ok but must be careful cos i know my tendency to overdo it generally! got to go shoppin tomorrow but will get him to carry it all. then off to cinema to sit still for couple hrs!! x

Hey, dont worry. I was about day 9-10 i felt sorer too, to the point i phoned the clinic as was scared it was something serious. The surgen saw me 4 weeks post op rather than 6 weeks but by the time i saw him it was totally fine. So i wouldnt worry too much it will just be you getting back into normal activities ie driving etc again. Oh and youl be reducing your pain killers too i bet. Xx
