WHAT is fluffing?
I have seen this term on several occasions but it's never explained and I cannot figure out what it might mean!

Re: WHAT is fluffing?
Basically it occurs with unders, the muscle is traumatised after surgery and is pushing down or compressing the implant but after a while the muscle starts to relax and as that happens it realeases its 'tight grip' of the implant which then drops and expands into its full shape or 'fluffs' into the pocket and in effect looks bigger, hth xxx

Re: WHAT is fluffing?
Some girls gain up to 3 sizes but some dont gain as much, and it occurs at different rates too. Its does occur with overs but they dont really 'fluff' as the implant is over the muscle, they more drop and settle and can appear bigger when this happens xx

Re: WHAT is fluffing?
Thanks for posting that link Nads, I remember looking at it ages ago but could never find it again!
Its left me a bit concerned after looking at it though because although the top part of my boobs look ok, the bottom part still looks like picture 3 no roundness at the bottom. Im so glad im seeing my PS in a couple of days.
This means that dropping & fluffing hasnt happened for me yet :pale:

Re: WHAT is fluffing?
I guess it depends what you were like pre op hun, some people have more lower pole than others but some have more upper pole, maybe, or maybe you do have more dropping? x
Re: WHAT is fluffing?
I didnt have much in either pole tbh
mine were a different shape from each other to start with.
Im having a " not liking my new boobs" couple of days, think ill feel better after seeing ps

Re: WHAT is fluffing?
Lol girls... first of all thanks for the explanation nads, second don't be sorry mah81, it's actually quite interesting... gosh there are sooo many things to be aware of - do you suggest going for smaller implants so that they don't get too big because of fluffing???? I have to have unders as there is almost no breast tissue... but maybe partial unders is better??? confused!!!!!!! I def want roundness at the bottom....

Re: WHAT is fluffing?
Partial unders and full unders will fluff hun, i dont think you should go smaller than what you wanted because of fluffing. If you want roundness at the bottom partials could be good as they're above the muscle underneath (see sticky: under vs overs) x
Re: WHAT is fluffing?
Think of a pillow. When you sleep on it it becomes compressed but after 'fluffing' the feathers it expands and is lovely and soft again...

Re: WHAT is fluffing?
This link is also useful to see the full extent of 'fluffing' in submuscular placement

Re: WHAT is fluffing?
Just goes to show you that you have to be paitent with unders (esp full unders) to see the final result, anything from 3 to 6 months. Put thankfully girls do see the gradual fluff so they know their breasts are settling

Re: WHAT is fluffing?
Another great link, thanks Boobieprize! I think its much easier to show the dropping & fluffing process with pictures than it is to explain it.
