Re: If you knew then what you know now ...
The loo flush! So true!
Nikita and Annaliese - I was exactly the same as you both, up and down in my bag getting stuff, going to the loo, GASP - flushing it - the nurse wasn't impressed! I also felt that I had very little pain and an easy recovery. Maybe it is something to do with the way Mr M does the surgery...
hmmmm, also remember to move things you use alot down from high shelves before you go, you won't be able to get a hold of anything above boob level for a few days. I swear my mum was taunting me, everytime I had my vit c tablets down, the next thing I knew they were back on the top shelf of the cupboard!!! Remember this about things in the fridge as well... Not being able to reach the mayonnaise sucks
The other thing that surprised me was how hard it was to cook at first, chopping onions, carrots etc was not possible in the first few days, and I had to take it slowly after that. Also when you get back to driving take it easy, the steering and gear changing is hard. I'd say leave off driving for as long as you can.
I didn't suffer from bloating or constipation - I did however eat a kilo of grapes after my op, maybe this helped!!!
Good luck with it all xxx
