Sleeping without a bra post op
Was wondering what everybody else has been advised about sleeping without a bra post op. I was told last week by the nurse that i could go braless at night after 2 weeks but i feel this sounds really soon and am worried they may fall out of their pockets! Does this sound really silly??? xxx

No question is silly! I kept my bra fixed to me for 6 weeks as advised.. I still wear a sports bra at night makes me feel more supported!! x x x

Hey annaliese! Straight after my op I was completely petrified every time I even took my bra off incase my boobs fell off! The thought of sleeping without it was terrifying! But then I got an allergic reaction on my scars and had to go braless for 3 weeks so I didn't have a choice! I feel fine sleeping braless now, even wake up on my front which I never thought I would do after my op! Xxx

Thanks hun :)I dont think i feel comfortable going without one at night in case my boobs end up in my armpits so think i might carry on a bit longer than i was told. I think most people get told 6 weeks so not sure why i was told 2! xx

Yeah initially I think I was supposed to wear the sports surgical bra for 6 weeks at least. I was paranoid my boobs would go saggy from not wearing a bra for so long! I was worried even taking it off at night would leave them sagging! Xxx

Re: Sleeping without a bra post op
If your comfortable staying in your bra, then stay in it! I was told right from the start I could just wear a tight vest, so when my bra got a bit much at night every now and then I would just wear the really tight vest instead of a proper bra.
Now my swelling is down, etc, I usually sleep in a soft crop top type bra, as I feel more supported that way, but I would say it was about 2 weeks for me that I started having the odd night in the vest instead of a bra...

i dont have to wear a bra in bed i just cant get out the habit of it, its like a comfort thing i know they are all tucked away and safe in the bra, my husband commented the other day as i was putting my bed bra on "thats it tuck them away so no one can see them" so ive spent a couple of nights without my bra but last night they were safely tucked away again x

I stopped wearing one at night at 4 weeks. I feel so weird without it! Hehe. Sometimes I still wear a sports bra :)

I am 2 months post op and have been told I can go braless at times and certainly at night. I just can't seem to do it though. First of all my girls weigh 3 lbs. and all I can think of are flashbacks of my pre-BA days with my saggy size B's. I never want to go there again. I think the sports bra in bed is a security blanket but my bf is getting kind of tired of seeing it ;-). That is part of the reason I got boobs in the first place lol!!
Anyway, I am trying to wean myself off of it. I know a lot of other girls who feel the same way.

Hey Hun sorry I only just saw this! The allergic reaction was at 3 weeks post op I think after the glue was picked off! It is a novelty going bra less and actually having boobs though! Xxx
