Oh poo! Just found mondors cord!
Morning ladies, well just found mondors cord under my right boob! It's kinda sore when I stretch up or touch it!
Thank god for this place or I'd be freaking out! I know it's nothing serious and will sort itself out but does anyone have any advice on what I should do? Will anything help? Should I email my pcc? X

Had a little look, some say massage, cold compress or hot compress. Just confused what to do for the best x

...according to the doctor's stuff on the net it can't be treated...just time and pain management, and some firm massaging. I guess though, thanks to this forum, at least you know your not alone babe!

hey hun, thanks for sharing this, I'd never heard of it, it's good it's not a permanent or dangerous thing, hope yours clears away fast! I just read on a couple of sites to use a hot compress, can you maybe call your pc and ask the nurse for some advice? Good luck xx

Re: Oh poo! Just found mondors cord!
Hi hun, I found mine about 2 weeks PostOp, I'm just over 4 weeks now and its finally starting to feel better. Still a little sore when I touch it, but other than that, its no problem at all. I found that using some inflamatory ointment (voltarin gel) and hot, wet compressions, help. I also lie in a warm bath with the mondors cord submerged for a good 20min. Nothing more you can do, just have to wait it out.

Re: Oh poo! Just found mondors cord!
Thanks stircrazy, the nurse called me and said to massage it to help it relax and feel less tight but it could take up to 6 months to totally go!!
Ah well at least it's not serious and it gives me an excuse to have a long soak in the bath :)
So glad I have all the ladies on here or I would have freaked this morning when I saw it! X

Re: Oh poo! Just found mondors cord!
I can't believe this...I just copped a feel for my mondors cord, and I can almost not feel it at all. I've been stretching my arm above my head and to the side, and rubbing it like crazy. Seems to have done the trick. Thanks for the massage tip claire. Its like it improved just in a few hours. Unbelievable.

Well i know this might hurt, but try and lift up your breast, as to sort of stretch the mondors cord, this well help it to open up the clog. Its just clogged blood in a vein. thats why massaging helps too

Re: Oh poo! Just found mondors cord!
Hey hun! I am 2 weeks post op now (feels like ages ago) I have bi-lateral Mondors Cord, found them about two days ago! On the left its sort of a double tendon-looking vein that runs from just under my breast, over my rib and pulls in my abdomen when I reach up!! And the left is a single vein that pulls a little on stretching!
I had a feeling they would show as once my initial post op pain had gone I kept getting the odd pulling sensation above my boobs and into my stomach, like a piece of string was pulling on my ribs :S
Ahhhh well not really pain as such now just a weird sensation!!
My post has just turned to a right whinging sesh! Lol

Re: Oh poo! Just found mondors cord!
Hey JBird how did your op go? I havent been able to get on too much so I need to go read your story if youve put one up.
I just have one and it runs down from under my boob over my ribs into my tummy that you can see when I reach up, its just uncomfortable and like you said a bit weird. I feel it pulling when Im trying to get comfy in bed.
Apart from that things are going well and Im getting very jiggly! I dont know if its the dropping part of D&F yet or what or just softening up for it x

Re: Oh poo! Just found mondors cord!
I don't really know what to expect from the whole dropping and fluffing although I do like the sound of a bit more size!! Lol wishful thinking maybe?!
Mine are starting to soften up already! I'm wearing a 34E sports bra and when I finish work I just CANNOT wait to get them out for 5 mins for a bit of freedom! I do find it quite restricting!!
Like you said I feel the Mondors cords mostly when reaching for things and especially at night when turning over!
Your Acatar is looking fantastic by the way!!
