Possible Capsular Contracture?
Hi all,
I had my BA on the 18th September 2011 and was told to wear my binder, but I noticed from wearing my binder my breast were sitting REALLY low and my nipples went from facing forward to facing straight down. Every one who saw them said the same with out me mentioning it so I phoned my nurse at the hospital I had them done at and explained my concerns, she spoke to my surgeon and got back to me by saying my surgeon said I could take my binder off so I done so. I also mentioned that my right breast was more full at the top and slightly more hard compared to my left she said that was normal and that my left side will heal quicker to my right as I am right handed. Any way I left it at that my breasts lifted so I was happy but I noticed that the shape at the top was still not the same, so i phoned them and sent emails and they said the same thing it was normal. After getting no where I have took to researching the internet and I think I have Capsular Contractur. Although I have read other posts expressing the same as me and you ladies have said most of you had the same and it DOES go normal I cant help worrying. My right breast which is the one more full at the top does have a stinging pain at times and burns when I massage it but not to painful just a light burning pain if that makes sense? Also when I lay flat on my back my right breast burns to the point where I have to sit up. My sister had her breast done at the same place as me 2 years in November and said that all the discomfort is normal. PLEASE HELP!! If any of you have any pictures to show what they did look like when at this stage and then how they progressed to looking normal I would very much appreciate it! X

Re: Possible Capsular Contracture?
Hun it is normal, your surgeon, nurse and sister have told you it's normal, so you must not panic, they should also have explained that it can take a few months for them to look and feel normal, but they will get there. I doubt it is CC just yet.
Re: Possible Capsular Contracture?
Hi Louise,
My right boob is still higher up fuller at the top a different shape and my nipple pointing down a bit to and I'm nearly 5 weeks po. I've seen my ps and he said it will drop if I let it and don't over do it. It has got loads netter following his advice but us still vert noticeable.
I don't think it matters how many people tell us all is ok we won't believe it until we can physically see are boobs are both the same and looking normal.
Hope this all hurrys and sorts out for us both,

I hope so, I'm thinking of going to see my surgeon just to put my mind at ease. I know I'm going on but is the fullness normal? X

My right is still higher and fuller at the top than my left. it also looks bigger. but i just go to all my follow-ups and my surgeon seems pleased and so I'm just waiting for them to sort themselves out.
I think CC takes a few months at least.....

Re: Possible Capsular Contracture?
Looking on various sites I have come accross a few supplements and medications (mainly used in the US) that profess to help cc - BA secret ;a medication used primarily for asthma called Accolate and another medication Papaverine also a supplement called Vitalzym and another called Singulair. Worth investigating further i should think ? Good luck !! :)
