Post by tracy2010 27th September 2011, 11:08 am

Please bear with me girls. Had my op last Thursday 365cc from 34b.
At first they were dead swollen and high up and looked as tho they were joined in the middle. Now, they are looking worse at day 5. They are still high and swollen but seem to have taken a triangular shape. Imagine a triangle with the point at the bottom - the point at the bottom is my nipples - Yukkkkkkkk! And they still look almost joined???!!!
I was expecting them to look more normal by now and I feel as tho they're getting worse!
I had unders.
Can anyone help put my mind at rest or any advice at all? Please be honest. I know it's hard when you can't see my pics; I did take some but have a stupid I-pad and I can't get them to upload!!!!
thanks ladies xxxx

Hi Hun, I know you must feel absolutely awefull and you're probably depressed, but remember, everyone's body reacts different to trauma, and to have this surgey is kinda like trauma to your body. Its a big shock. Give a few more days, and if it still doesn't improve, go and see your PS. If you feel you can't wait any longer, booked an appointment a.s.a.p.

I'll probably be in the same boat as you in a few days and bawling my eyes out, but nothing can really prepare you for this, you can read only as much and see only as much, but going thru this is a whole different ballgame.

Good luck, and don't stress too much. Things will get better

I am not 100% who it was but I am thinking it was Rachy77 that shared photos with me and she had very similar swelling. I looked quite bad but they turned out lovely! Still ring your PS and ask but I do remember being most swollen around that 5 to 7 day mark.

Your surgeon will know best so cant hurt to check.

It's normal for them to look weird for a while. Also known as the frankenboobie stage. You are also at the stage where you could have boobie blues so mix both together and outcome is panic. Don't worry hun. I'm sure you have a check up soon and your nurse or surgeon will be able to put your mind at rest. It can take 6 weeks to look normal ish due to muscle taking that long to heal from the trauma of surgery

If you have unders your boobs will be more distorted. This is because the muscle is taught and the implant isn't sitting properly. You'll find that can look high, square, oblong or cone shaped. As the skin and muscle relaxes over the next few months they'll take a much more natural shape.

There's nothing to worry about now, just relax and let your body concentrate on healing.

Hey Tracy - I can't really help as I had unders, but I would say it sounds like swelling, which as the girls say is totally normal after surgery. However, if you can't wait, there's no reason not to schedule to see your PS, that's why you paid him the big bucks!!!
You should have a follow-up soon right?
Good luck!!

Hey sweetheart, I had overs too, and mine are also looking a bit pointy. At the bottom they are kind of flat, and on top they are rounded over - so basically the reverse of what they should be!!

But I saw the nurse a couple of days ago to have my dressing changed, and she said it was all normal. The roundness on top is a combo of swelling and the implant sitting up high because the skin at the bottom still hasn't stretched and relaxed to let the implant drop... which is also why it looks weird and flat on the bottom!!

My BF saw them 2 days ago, and again today, and in those 2 days he was quite shocked at how he thought they had already relaxed a bit to look more natural.

It's REALLY early days for us. And it SUCKS having to wait for all these changes. But if we do give it time, they will sort themselves out. xx

Hey hon, mine still look pretty horrible. Very cone shaped, nipples point down and they are hard and positioned very high. THe skin needs to give and the tissue needs to heal and grow around the implant before it will look like a part of you. You still have so much to go through, you will still have a lot of swelling and it's a massive letdown when you see your boobs (after wanting them for so long) and they don't look perfect. Do NOT worry, this is totally normal, every body is different and keep in mind that surgery is really just the beginning of your journey. Your changes will happen weekly, take your mind off it and just focus on getting better. It gets better hon, you have done the right thing and it's very normal to over analyse your breasts when you first get them done.

Hi Tracy,
I hope you are feeling a bit better today, I'm sure whilst you've been sleeping they've been slooooowly changing!
Rest up hon, maybe paint your nails or something to make yourself feel a bit better.
Just think how fab you'll (and all of us!) look by Christmas

I agree with the others, definitely take some pics so you can see the changes as they might not be noticeable to you. I'm sure they'll look a bit more 'normal' in no time. X
