Recovery times - overs
I'm almost certain that I am going for overs now (330cc) and was wondering if any of you could help me gain an idea of how long the recovery time might be?
I know it is different for everyone, but hearing how other people got on is going to help more than the surgeon telling me "a couple of weeks and you should be fine". I am hoping to have my BA in November. And I will very quickly need to be back doing the school runs and making dinners etc. I know I can't wash up or do any housework for a little while (shame...... ;-) !) but how soon did you resume normal gentle activities like cooking?
How soon were you back doing the school run? Or return to work?
How soon were you able to cuddle your little ones without lots of pain?
How soon were you able to have sex again? How soon were you able to go out with friends for a meal or drinks?
As I say, I've spoken to a couple of surgeons now and asked these questions and got their advice but I want to know from people who have actually been there and done it. I don't think either of the men I saw have had boob jobs lol so they're just dishing out generic advice. You girls will have way more of an idea of what I should expect!
Thank you! xxx

Re: Recovery times - overs
I too have been thinking this, as my husband is looking after me for a week so i know he will do the housework and cooking, but after that im back at work then doin school runs and stuff,
As you may have read one of the girls here had her surgery and had sex the day after but was very careful, i think it all depends on how you feel.
I think we just have to take it 'easy' so do things but not overdoing it.

Ooooh Vicci you're a November lady too!! Not that I've actually booked yet but it looks likely I will get mine done in November. How exciting!
Did you have many consultations or were you happy with the first surgeon you saw?
You're going a lot bigger than me - jealous! I was told I could only go up to 330cc's. xx

Re: Recovery times - overs
HI there. I had 350 overs. I was doing the cooking and bits in the house from day 3. JUst no reaching up or anything. I didn't drive for 13 days and I am glad of that. Had sex at day 8 I think, but just let him do his bit if you know what I mean as I was told if you raise your heart rate too much in first 6 weeks it can cause bleeding. I went back to work on day 6 but am office based. IT was tiring though. Generally I would say after the first 3 days its ok to potter about and do bits as long as you don't overdo it. I was walking with my horse from day 3 as well. NOt on him though! LOl. A 30 min walk was about enough in the first 10days or so. CUddling is still an issue.... and sleeping on my side. Although both sides are different and I can just about sleep on my right now but def not on my left. LIke you say, everyone is different. MY op was slightly worse than the norm as well as I had lots of lumps of macrolane removed so go pulled about a bit! Fingers crossed you will be fine x

Thanks sweetcarol xx
Sounds like you are having a really good recovery! Hope I am as lucky as you :) I am also office based, but mainly work from home at the moment so can go rest when I need to which will be good.
I do have two 2 hour journeys very soon after the BA but will be travelling by train so hopefully this shouldn't cause a problem. At least I can get up and move about and not have tight seatbelts to worry about.
What size sports bra are you wearing? What size were you pre BA? I am hoping to be at least a D cup.....

Re: Recovery times - overs
I came home from London on the train on my op day and went back down and up 7 days later. The train was no issue although I had to sit down when I was on the underground... couldn't risk standing and holding myself up as it jerks to stop each time. I was a a cup before and in d's and dd's at the minute. I wanted a d so hopefully when they settle that's what they will be. Have you decided on cc yet? X

Opal- I only went for the one consultation as I got the surgeon I wanted, so excited for the size, never thought I would be offered the size im going with.
Who are going with or are you undecided, or do you have a specified clinic you want to go with.
November seems like lightyears away at the moment....just want it to be here now!

Re: Recovery times - overs
Oh brilliant news sweetcarol, that's exactly what I will be doing too. Trains and then jerky tubes.... ouch!
I am torn between 300 and 330cc's. Have been recommended moderate profile Nagor impleo's which apparently come up higher profile than other brands. I'm only a 30 band though so thought I'd be advised to have HP. I am completely flat chested and need to fill up the whole breast! Got my second consultation tomorrow so hopefully will get some of the projection questions answered then.
Don't want to be too big but worry I won't be big enough if I don't go for the 330's. Would love to look a D and maybe measure slightly more. Am also having overs :) xx

Re: Recovery times - overs
vicci - I'm going with MyBreast, chick. I saw them first and am happiest with the advice of the surgeon I saw. Also I like the Nagor Impleo implants which is what they use.
Counting down the days is hard isn't it?! I'm planning on keeping myself as busy as possible until my day comes along. I'm totally rubbish at being patient!!!! xx

Re: Recovery times - overs
I was ok to do relatively normal stuff the following day - ie walk around the shops, go out for lunch. I looked after my kids from day 3 on my own and drove after a week.
I was told no lifting (anything over 5lbs)/ironing/hoovering for 3-4 weeks and not to exercise for 4-6 weeks depending on how I felt.
I was really well afterwards and didn't need any pain relief but everyone is different though! xx

Re: Recovery times - overs
I was moving as normal from day 2, very swollen and tight the pain easily managed with the painkillers. Beginning of Week stitches out healed nipple scars just a few scabs that fell off when i washed. hanging out washing, out and about with handbag, normal daily choirs, could lift heavy things (and did) stupidly but was ok. End of week 2 swelling nearly gone completely, from an E to a D and healing nicely, dropped to about where I want them and no pain at all, sleep on side flat ,can lie on my front on my boobs. Just need to settle into skin properly and hey presto... Think I was pretty lucky really. Touch wood!

Re: Recovery times - overs
I had unders last Monday and I was out walking the dog the next day. Today I've managed to put some washing on and hang it out and empty the dishwasher. I just have to do everything slowly and not carry as much as I normally would. I also had a lift on one side, which is the more painful side, so anyway that was a long winded way of saying that you'll have to be really careful but it shouldn't take long to start doing normal things. I've found it's more frustrating than anything, like yesterday I couldn't tie my hair up or put my top on without the help of my boyfriend but I went out all day and then went down the pub without a problem (except I got a bit nervous someone would bump into me!) I'm finding everyday gets easier! Good luk hun xxx

Re: Recovery times - overs
Hey, I'm only 5 days post op with 465 overs. Today is the first day I have got through without needing to take a nap! I've just been really really tired. But when I have been awake, I've been able to cook, make myself a cuppa, etc.
I managed to drive today (an auto, with very soft power steering! Wouldn't have even considered a manual, though) to my consult to have my dressings changed.
I think if I'd HAD to, I could have gone back to work today. In saying that - I'm very happy I have another week off. They still feel 'heavy' for me at the moment.
I went to my parents place for lunch today, and was quite capable of socialising - going to the pub would also have been fine. We had guests over on evening 3, that was ok, but I was happy they didn't stay too long, as I was still in my 'nap' phase. (The need to nap would come on like a light switch for me. Fin one minute, then I'd just crash and need to lie down!).
And I'm probably a terribly naughty girl... but my PS never actually told me not to have sex... so my BF was back on board by day 2. But like sweetcarol, it's really been more a case of letting him do his thing, mostly because it's uncomfortable to move too much!
xx

November Girls!
Hi there,
I'm new to the site and I am having overs too. I am booked in with MyBreast on 31st October for 450cc's mod plus/high profile. Can't decide on which one. I was worried that the 450 would be too big but reading the posts on this site I think I may be disappointed if I go smaller!
