Swelling and tightness day 12 - HELP
Hi ladies
i have woke up this morning and the swelling and tightness on my left side has got worse and is quite uncomfortable. I have been sore on both sides for days, which i mentioned to my surgeon on friday and was told this is totally normal. I am just a bit worried now that I have woke up feeling worse on one side. I may have done a little bit more yesterday than i have before, but nothing major and i am right handed so you would have thought if i was going to damage anywhere, it would be my right hand side. I just wanted to know if any other girls had experienced them swelling more at a similar stage... for all i know it could be the normal healing process and i am worrying for nothing. Obviously i will contact my surgeon if its gets worse by tomorrow or something, but thought i might get some good advice off here first!
thanks girls

Re: Swelling and tightness day 12 - HELP
Hi Sweetcarol
I am right-handed so my right breast was more sore and swollen than the left one, left one never gave me any trouble. I found that I had more swelling on the right one after a week or so.
I think what you are experiencing is normal but ask your surgeon just to be sure, you could give the clinic a call and explain the situation like you have done here and they will be able to tell you if it is normal.
Meanwhile you can use ice packs to help the swelling go down, I know it worked really well for me :)
Hope you feel better soon xxxxx

Hay hun,
try not to worry, you body will heal at different rates as each Incision is a different operation so one boo hurting more then the other or even hurting for a longer amount of time could well happen.
Swell is something I struggled with, I used to waking up 1st thing in the morning for at least the 1st 4 weeks and my boobs would be so swollen and hurt SOOO much but once up and moving around after a few hours it would calm down.
Ice is very good at helping the swelling reduce so Id give that a go......
