Different Sized Breasts - Please Help!!
Hi Ladies,
I have no idea how this works or how I know people have replied to my postings? I posted under the topic "3 Weeks Post Op" but I do not know how to "refresh" the screen to see the replies, if any? I just signed up today because I was reviewing this site with respect to having one breast bigger than the other, as I read everyones posts it reassured me everything will be ok but thought I would like to be apart of the conversations as I continue to heal. I have no idea how this site works, so I appologize if I am posting in the wrong spot for this discussion. My BA surgery was on July 28, 2011. Originally my left breast was slightly larger than my right, which is fine, as I know most women have uneven breast BUT my main concern is, before my surgery I had talked to a few women who had BA done and told me that they had different cc in each breast to even them out eg. 375cc in on and 400cc in the other. I received 500cc in both breast even though before the surgery my left breast was slightly larger. My concern is, why didn't the doctor put different cc in my breast to "even" them out? I had a breakdown over the weekend because I took photos of my breast and could tell my right one hangs a bit lower than my left and isn't as full :'( I know each breast will heal differently, BUT I am worried because the fact they have the same cc in each breast and starting out with slightly uneven breast I am affriad they will not heal the same size :( PLEASE HELP!!

Hey Anna
Don't worry about getting lost here whilst you find your feet, we mods are here to help you lovely, as you've posted in the lift section we'll move this to the General Breast Aumentation' section of the morum for you. You'll soon find your way
As for your question, well, if your asymmetry is there but not very niticeable a surgeon will place the same sized implants in there, if there was a marginal difference that was noticeable then as you said, there will two different sized implants used to balance out the breasts.
Its VERY normal to have some degree of asymmerty early post-op hun and ith you having one breast slightly larger than the other it's very possible the smaller took a little more trauma squeezing the implant through than the larger breast, therefore it may take just that little bit longer to heal than the other, so if you think of your breasts as having two seperate operations it kinda makes sense doesn't it.
In saying that, at every post-op consultation if you're unhappy with ANYTHING you should be sure to bring it to the nurses/surgeons attention and ALWAYS ensure that what you say is always written down, this is VERY important Anna as these notes are what will be referred to should you continue to be unhappy babe, I'm not for a moment saying you will, but it's always best to cover yourself hun. xx

Hi Cookie
I have read a lot of your posts to women in need of advice/help/comfort etc. and I am so happy you have replied on mine!!
I guess because it has only been just over 3 weeks since my surgery I can't get too upset, yet. It is definitely overwhelming when you are unsure of what your body is doing and not knowing how the end result will be.
So as you said, if my breast were noticeably different in asymmerty pre-op, the doctor would have made the adjustments to the cc's? I had my breakdown over the weekend because I thought the doctor messed up and forgot about my left breast being different than my right breast. I just find it hard to have hope they will even out. My left breast is fuller and after the surgery it was the breast with the most swelling and discomfort. So again, like you said, maybe my right breast hasn't caught up yet and maybe it will become fuller?
Do you think that because my left one is fuller, it is the one that has to come lower, or will the end result possibly be my right boob become fuller like the left? I am not sure how they heal? I have another appointment with my doctor on the 22nd, so I will be sure to document any questions/concerns!
I just hope in the end they will look somewhat similar, look good in a photo, and not have one nipple lower then the other and both be full. I would love for both my breasts to be the size of my left one...the full, sexy look not the lower nipple one
Any other adivce/help/reasurrance would be great ladies and I will try to help anyone else out

wow! Thank you so much, I'm a little overwhelmed by that but it's nice to know your efforts are recognised.

Take a look at this diagram hun, it explains how the dropping process happens -
At just 3 weeks post-op you have a while to go yet sweetness and wonky uneven boobs of differing sizes are very common, I went through the same myself and it took me till 12 weeks post-op to achieve the result I have today.
I have another appointment with my doctor on the 22nd, so I will be sure to document any questions/concerns!
LOL, you really have read my posts haven't you! Yes, your right hunni, docummenting your concerns and ensuring your surgeon writes them down is probably one of the most important things you will do post-op for yourself hun. So take good care to that sweetness.

If you's like to, read my my diary hun, it's in the Breast aug diaries section called 'cookies journey' My boobs were all over the place before settle sweetheart, it might be helpful to you as you're so concerned. xxxx
Re: Different Sized Breasts - Please Help!!
Thank you so much for your help !!
I have more questions/discussions I would love to have but not sure where to go or how to get more people involved with their experiences etc.
To prevent scaring, my doctor had mentioned to keep the 1" paper tape (I think that is what it is) on and change every week instead of using Vitamin E right away. He suggests/recommends using Vitamin E 3 months after surgery to prevent scaring.
Any feedback or suggestions anyone?
