Why do they want you to lose weight hun? It may be due to risks for you going under anaesthetic but I cant really see how? Did you tell him originally that you wanted to loose weight? As he may be worried you wont be happy with the result if you had the implants then lost weight as it can drastically change how they look. I haven't been through this, when I had my op I was overweight for my height and my bmi was about 26 but nothing really high over the normal, so I had no problems. Loosing weight is really hard when you want to do it, but even harder when you dont. You could try your GP to help you lose weight if you really wanted to lose it for the surgery, they can give you free sessions (for a limited time) with a personal trainer at the gym, they can even give you slimming pills (these are evil believe me, only use them if you really have to).

Im 5ft 10 hun. and i do have a belly but that because of having a baby. Ive just lost 2 stone and ive had to stop going to the gym untill i see my surgeon again on wednesday as it could change my implant size. But when i saw my surgeon first time he said to lose all the weight before my op. Which i have done. But i know how hard it is, coz i hated the gym and refused to go, but now i wouldnt change it. I love my chocolate, and i still have a bar a day. Its something you have to do for yourself hun. xxx

Before having surgery you have a pre-op assessment hun, during this assessment your BMI will be taken into consideration, if it's felt your BMI is too high you will be refused surgery hun.

This is because your BMI is over the limit considered safe for operating, your health may be at risk. As Transform and most of the other commercial clinics dont have hospitals with a 'high dependancy unit' should things not go to plan in theatre they just aren't equipped to deal with you hunni.

I know it's a bit of a bugger, but sweetie, your health comes first and I'm sure you'll appreciate that.

If you are serious and just don't want to lose weight to have a BA with Dr Khan you give yourself two choices.... lose the weight even if it's not your choice to do so and have Mr Khan do the operation, or go to somewhere like BMI who do have a HDU, I'm not saying they will operate if your BMI is very high, I don't know, but you may have a better chance with the hospital being more equipped to deal with any eventuality, downside is you wont have Mr Khan though so will have to choose another surgeon. xxx

my surgeon misunderstood something i said and thought i meant i was planning to lose weight, and so initially said she won't operate on me till ive lose weight... then i explained and she said, oh ok, she just didn't want to give me perfect boobs for my shape if i was gonna change my shape.

by the way, sorry, it's a little bugbear of mine: It's spelt LOSE weight not LOOSE... thanks lol

Mine is the mis use of ' or non use of them, i.e. its when meant it is and not written as it's lol

Ha ha I am terrible at spelling and punctuation (or maybe sometimes I'm just lazy), I just noticed I spelt lose right at first and then spelt it wrong in the next sentence. Oh well, I blame my teachers Just wondering? 557141

haha! With all this morphine I'm taking I'm reading things all muddled up and how I see a word in my mind is coming through as if I were dyslexic, I have to check a few times and still some jiggled up words get away through.... I suppose most of us have our cross to bare so as long as it's legible, we should just ignore it Just wondering? 184153 x

hey jade honestly, 'dieting' and beign strict is a total prescription for failure... // the only way to do it is start making small lifestyle changes you can live with and keep doing...

for instance: if you work in a pub and eat the food there a super good way to get started is just, eat less of everything you usually eat. like say you would usually have some kind of sandwich and potatoes or something (you know what they call french fries here) so a really good way to start is just only eat, half a sandwich. and half the fries. get a good salad and eat that first before your sandwich. dont just eat carrot sticks, have a nice salad that fills you up. with eggs on it or some kind of protien. then eat your half sandwich nice and slowly and enjoy it.

just eat everything you would normally eat but just only eat half of it. put it on a smaller plate, and eat very slowly. doing both of those things makes you think you are eating more when you aren't, and also makes you feel full faster. if you normally drink two beers drink one beer, and one water.

its not perfect for losing weight but its a very good start, the only way to do it is start making small permanent changes in how you do everything. just eating less of everything you usually eat is a super good way to start.

then once you have that down, start making other little changes like putting less cheese on the sandwich or less mayo. always try to use whole wheat bread. etc. eat a few nuts or trail mix or hard boiled eggs throughout the day so you dont ever get too hungry. yeah you are still eating stuff that isn't great for you but you are starting to change your habits slowly and thats what will pay off in the long run.

seriously give that a try.

Charms - good advice! I actually work at a pub and I notice that instead of eating the huge hamburger and fries, I eat 1/2 the burger and 1/2 the fries - and it helps (not a lot, but a little) - it's a good way to break into the weight loss game LOL

It doesn't look like you need to loose weight on your avatar but if the surgeon has recommended it then I would take his advice hun. Have you tried joining a slimming club hun? I joined Slimming World and I love it! I lost over 2 stone and it was so easy!!!!

I would carry on trying to lose your weight hun if that's what you want /need to do xx

It is hard and despite eating half what I normally do and running 2.5 miles 5 times a week I have remained the same weight for 4 weeks now which is disappointing to say the least xx

Is Khan the only PS you have seen hun? xx Apologies if you have already said in another thread or told me before, I've been in and out recently and am just catching up again xx
