my BA story
tuesday 2nd august 2011. we are up nice and early getting kids ready and packed off to my mum for the day, before leaving for the abbey riverside hospital. felt fine on the drive up there and we arrived 2 hours early(me panicing about being late). luckily my room was ready anyway so we were free to go and sit in there.so glad my partner came with me. so we were in the room at half eleven and didnt go down for op till 4pm. we spent the time watching telly on the nice flat screen tv in the lovely room which was more like a hotel room. nurse kept coming and going-i got changed into my lovely sexy gown paper knickers and dvt stockings. my partner had lovely smelling toastie and chips while i just sat and watched(was starving). as day went on started to get the horrible nerves and sicky feeling just wanted it over with. had never had GA before and was so worried i wouldnt wake up. dr khan came in to see me,he took couple of pics then drew on me under boobs then wrote implant size across my chest...365cc. so at just before 4pm very nice man came and escorted me to the thearte was so nervous but he made me feel better by just chatting and telling me i will wake up. so im in there lay on table and in goes the canula for GA,i feel surprisingly relaxed then feel a coldness start to go up my arm then im gone.........next thing i know im waking up thinking its not even done yet and im still going off to sleep but then nurse leans over and says all done. ward nurse comes to wheel me back to my room and im back in there with my partner at 5pm cant believe in a hour its all done. i was very lucky didnt feel sick or have sore throat just slept for next hour til 6pm. at 6 nurse bought in the best tasting tuna mayo sandwich ever and cup of tea with biscuits.very nice. at 7pm my partner left to drive home as had to get back to our 5 month old baby. i didnt feel in any pain at all just bit sore tender heavy and stiff. at half 7 they bought in my tea jacket potato with cheese and beans, only had 3 mouthfulls as didnt feel hungry then, shame as it looked lovely. watched eastenders then nodded off for rest of evening, just kept waking when nurse came to check blood pressure. had good sleep didnt need pain killers through night. felt fine the next morning had my breakfast and my lady driver came at half 8 to take me home ,she was very nice and chatted whole way home, arrived back at 10.30. i think im just lucky as 2 days on i have still had no pain, just uncomfortable. really want to pick my baby up and have cuddles so thats the worse thing at the moment. im all strapped up but from what i can see they look great and a million times better than my saggy empty A cups. im in 36 D sports bra. strapping taken off by nurse next week so cant wait to see them properly. the abbey riverside hospital was so lovely and clean and all the staff were just so lovely, actually really enjoyed the whole experience. anyone who is pre BA and worried please dont as its no where near as bad as i thought it would be and i love my boobs already. xxxxxxxxxxxx

Fab story, Kelly! And great you're not in too much pain.
Funny how after an op food and drink tastes like nothing on earth isn't it? A cup of tea is soooooooo good!
Congratulations honey xx

Re: my BA story
Hi Kelly,
Glad it all well for you. I'm 2weeks post op today and have a 10month old lil boy and its soooooo hard not giving them pick ups but its best for us not to. I found a way to bottle feed him (crossed my one leg over the over high and placed his bottom in the the gap in the middle) and his head resting on my knee, that way you can control the bottle with your one hand and the other hand to hold your babies hand(mine always has to feel my top when feeding so i just held his hand with a teddy).
Lays on my lap to have snuggies on the bed , with fella watching :) so hard not just to pick em up though.
wishing you all the best and hope you recover gr8 :) take care
Nicole
