hmm ok i just read a post where someone mentioned about having drains in, now my lovely consultant mentioned this when i saw her the other day saying i might end up with some in it just depends ect. well this was fine untill i read that post which mentioned the drains were of actual blood Shocked

so i feel abit silly now but what exactly are they pumping in / out of you with drains in? i kind of thought they would be fluid of somekindQ about Drains! 375568 ....I am VERY squeemish so the thought of going about with a couple of bags of blood around me make me want to faint Q about Drains! 588945 Q about Drains! 856466

dont worry about the drains. i had my ba on fri and had drains. not a lot of fluid, maybe 3 teaspoons and had them taken out the next day. cant say it hurt having them out, just a little pulling on the right, left one i didnt feel at all. maybe better to get rid of fluid that way than having it sit there for a while!

I'm one week post op and I also had drains, the nurse jst dangled mine off each side of the bed so they were on the floor, u dnt even know they are there until you go to the toilet. They aren't at all painful hun so dnt go worrying urself u will be fine and just remember it will all be worth it in the end Stars

Hey Hun, I had drains, they just remove and build up of fluid from the boobs, it is a clear pinkish color because there is a bit of blood, but not much.... And the drains are a price of cake, no pain and not as yucky as they sound. The best part is that they get all that yucky stuff out and it helps minimize swelling and bruising. You'll be fine. X

thanks ladies! its not the pain im worried about, id happily have the pain if im getting my boobs lol its just the thought of seeing lots of blood in a bag which now doesn't sound like i'll be seeing thank goodness lol

When i was pregnant i could go and get my blood taken but i couldn't watch atall and told my mw everytime to make sure the blood she took was hidden away from me before i sat up (i had to get bloods taken lying down or i'll faint!)

oh well not long now!!!
