Pre op...confused???

Ive just got home from my preop,was expecting to be weighed,asked questions,told a little bit more about what will happen on tues wen i hav the op but no none of that!

Was called in and had my blood taken,that was it!Asked if the nurse had fnished when she opened the door for me and she said yes!!

Has anyone else just had blood taken,confused,wasnt what i expected??

i havent heard anything about my pre op yet and i'm going in in 13 days, i'm self employed and need to get all my clients done before my op so am chokka block at the moment, i'm going to phone them this afternoon and ask because i'm getting a little worried. i asked the other girls what they did in their pre ops because i really REALLY dont want my blood taken, and half said they had blood taken, and the other half got weighed, measured ...questions asked... so on. i had to fill in a form when i saw mr singh and he asked me alot of medical questions so i wouldnt be suprised if i just have blood taken x

I'm pre op but people I know who have had a ba say the pre-op takes half an hour. I was under the impression they would weigh you and take your height. They don't always take blood but I'm not sure of the reasons why. Sometimes they take before photos and maybe ask a few more medical questions. Perhaps they have asked you questions before? Maybe at an earlier consultation? U should email your pc and tell her what happened and ask her if this is norm. X

Hi girls

I had my pre op last friday with Transform.

The nurse went over medical questions, weighed me and took some photo's. She asked if I had been in hospital in the last year as I would need mrsi swabs. I haven't but due to my work she took swabs anyway!

She said blood tests arn't taken as routine unless you have a medical reason for them.

I guess all clinics are different though!

i was also wieghed and had height taken and also loadsa medical questions, they also took blood and urine and put some swabs up my nose(random) to check for mrsa.

I had mine done on nhs so will be different but i have to say that on the day of the op they did the whole thing again so it might be that they do it then//?

I had my pre-op literally just before my surgery hun. At my consultation they discussed implant sizes and took an MRSA swab and then on my BA day they weighed me, took my bloods and discussed each stage of surgery with me. Easch company seems to do things differently so jst give them a ring and ask them what will happen next x good luck hun x

Thanx for ur replies girls...yeah i take it they must b doin all that on the day,I havent lost any weight(told my ps i would lose 1 and a half stone before)woops!!hoping it doesnt really matter because i pretty much stay the same size whether i gain or lose weight.x

just to let you all know i have my pre-op on wednesday now, i phoned yesterday and they'd made it obvious that they'd completly forgotten about me lol, charming hey????
