hi girls

im having my dressings removed on thursday i will be 11 days post op. I havent seen anyone from hosp since the op they just told me to keep them dry and go back on thursday. (i had it done on NHS)

Really nervous as still feels really sore where the steri strip is.

Im also really unsure about what will be underneath as not seen yet, it looks tidy through the steri strip but i suppose i wont know properly untill they take it off.

Does it hurt?? will they re dress??? any help on this much appreciated

when they took the strips off the incision at 1 week post op i was bricking it!! i thought my boobs would rip open and my guts would fall out! and when he did take them off super quickly i felt a slight twinge, a bit like an eyebrow wax but not as bad lol! they then put fresh ones on and told me that in a week i should take them off and start using bio oil.

but everyone is different, and i think the main thing is to be calm and relaxed and listen to what your PS has to say and let them reassure you everythings great! Having the dressing changed....scared 154564

I've had mine re-dressed 5 times in 3 weeks but then I have had an uplift too and some bad bruising so need them on for longer. I was feeling apprehensive at first too but don't be scared as it shouldnt hurt at all.

I find it really cathartic to get them changed & cleaned and strangely like the smell of iodine now ! I'm sure it'll be fine honestly. My scarring mostly looks good but it did take a while to get used to it.

good luck x

I'm sure it will be all good and try to be excited by it if you can.

It is nothing to worry about, I did it all by myself :D Obviously it is not a good thing to do, but I didn't have time and I had to change my dressings and to remove stiches myself ;)

U will be fine :) I was terrified because I was thinking that my scars were going to look a LOT worse than what they are. You will have a worse picture in your head than reality, so when you do finally see your scars you will be pleasantly surprised! :) The pain isn't as bad as you think, even though everything feels as though it's on fire now because the nerves are coming back to life, you will actually be surprised how numb you still are at 11days, so you will barely feel it!
Hope this eases your mind! XXX
