1 week till BA and so confused!!
Ladies im having my BA on the 2nd of august with transform in manchester but i still dont know if im having unders or overs
my surgeon told me if i dont decide she will decide for me on the day, at my pre op i asked the nurse if it was a problem that i still hadnt decided and her words wer nahhhh youll wake up with a suprise kind of like if you have a baby and dont find out the sex till you have it!!!
ive not been told if i need to get sports bras for if i am having overs so far all ive got is a V pillow and my arnica tablet things! i dont know if im just fussing over nothing, i am abit of a control freak, and also reading some of your stories i would have liked to have tryed different implants in a bra to see how they look, im starting to think maybe i should have shopped around but its too late now.
I also got a phone call yesterday saying they had 'forgot' to get me to sign the finance docs so ive got to rush over thisevening after work which may i add i live nowhere near the clinic grrr.
has anybody else been in this situation with the not knowing what your having??

Re: 1 week till BA and so confused!!
Hi, I was not in the situation of not knowing, my surgeon knew that overs would be best for me. But I would advise you not to worry because it seems your surgeon doesn't want to guess at what is right for you and will want to do what seems best at the time of operating.
I believe unders have a slightly more painful post op course as they restrict arm movement for a week or 2 so be prepared for that.
I would advise you to get sports bras because which ever type you get, the implants need to be held firmly in place until the body has healed and formed a little capsule around them. You can check when you go in on the day that your surgeon is happy you wear them, but at least you'll have them ready. My surgeon put mine on me when I was asleep!
I also recommend you get a back size bigger than your current because you get a lot of swelling post op at the sides and it will bee too tight otherwise. And get a couple of cup sizes, you want to feel supported so maybe one a bit smaller than the size you think you'll end up and one at/above that size.
:)

Re: 1 week till BA and so confused!!
I understand that you are feeling confused!
This is a very big decision and we spend a lot of money on it, therefore we deserve to feel asured and confident in all aspects of it.
If you are not sure about the size and profile go back for another pre op to discuss size, this is a big decision you dont want to regret.
As for overs or unders, sometimes its our body that determines that, did they say you have enough breast tissue for overs?
You probably do need a sports bra, but ask your ps to confirm, if you do buy a few in different sizes and keep the tags on so you can return any unused ones. I also suggest buying a bigger band size than you usually wear to accomodate swelling.
There is some list on this forum that will tell you what you need for the day of the op, just type it in the search line at the top right of the page.
Remember... its not too late until you had the surgury! Please call and ask your ps and clinic these questions and get the answers you feel confident with, remember you are paying them to service you!
If you can not arrange to get in before the op you can probably discuss plavement over the phone and ask if they can bring a few sizes on the op day and you can discuss it before hand.
Good luck hun! x

Re: 1 week till BA and so confused!!
I wouldnt be too worried about whether its going to be under or overs because the surgeon will know best about that with how much natural boob you have. But i would definitely ring up and ask to try a few sizes and then you can ask all your questions too. x

Re: 1 week till BA and so confused!!
I came away from my 1st consultation not really understandin so I was constantly emailing my PC with questions lol!! I then had another consultation with my surgeon as I felt the first time I didn't get enough information then every time I had a concern I would email the PC. Could you see ur's again to go over all ur concerns and have everything written down so you don't forget? Transform recommended shock absorbers or M&S sports bra's to me, I already had a shock absorber in 32DD and bought a M&S one in 32E. I emailed to check which sizes so u should ask them what size they think u need xx

Re: 1 week till BA and so confused!!
I would defo ring them hun and book another consultation with them. These companies annoy me sometimes! We are paying so much money and putting a lot of trust into them to get it all right but because they go through it all day everyday they just seem to assume we know what we are doing! It really is all so confusing I felt exactly the same! But just phone and ask for another consultation and tell them you want to try some implants and I'm sure they will be happy to arrange it for you. Good luck hun x

Re: 1 week till BA and so confused!!
I would suggest getting another consultation even if it means you have to postpone your op. They have told you and shown you nothing. If you don't make it crystal clear what you want then it is highly likely you will wake up and not like what you have been given. They will not give you a re opfor free because you don't like them. Sounds like they just took your money and will give you what they think is best and maybe not what you want. Show your surgeon pictures of boobs you like so they can see exactly what you want. Research unders and overs and discuss it with your surgeon.
Re: 1 week till BA and so confused!!
ive researched both options like mad im constantly on here and google lol im going to take several pictures of jessica jane clements with me and just ask for her exact boobs (if only it worked that way lol) im going to see if i can get a late night appointment aparently they are open till 8 a few nights a week then atleast ill feel like ive had more of a say about my boobs!! i trust my surgeon she was wonderful when i met with her but that feels like a life time ago as i saw her on the day of my 1st consultation it all happend so quickly!x
