Do I take my own sports bra to consultation?????
Hello Girlies,
It's my first consultation on the 18th of aug, and was wondering do I take my own sports bras to try on implants or are they provided. Also I have read that some people didn't even get to try implants? Hope this isn't the case for me because wouldn't be able to choose a cc without trying them first. If anyone could tell me about their consultation stories that would be great just really dont know what to expect!
Thank you

It depends who the consultation is with if its a popular clinic your first appointment may be with a PC (patient coordinator) these are sales people that will tell you a bit about the op ask you what you want to achieve and suggest surgeons, they usually ask when you want the op and will try to get a deposit out of you so you wont go anywhere else.
When you see a surgeon - If you want to take a sports bra in the size you want to achieve its a good idea. They should let you try implants on. Take pictures with you of boobs you like to show the surgeon exactly what you want. The info here should help you [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Hi hun, when you see patient coordiantor you wont try any implants on, but when you see the surgeon you will.
I went to HMG and didnt try any on, but i went to mya and tried on loads and they provided me with the sport bra too.
It depends where your going as there the only two i went too. Where are you going hun? xx

Tashabasha I've booked up at Holly house with dr carver and I will be seeing him personally at my consultation so hopefully will be trying what size I want with him. Think I might take one just in case can't see the harm?
Thanks ladies

I think places tend to do it differently, because when my aunty had hers done, they gave her a bra to try the implants on. But when I went, I never saw a nurse, it was always with my PS, and he told me to bring my own sports bra to our next appointment so that I could try implants on xxx

Re: Do I take my own sports bra to consultation?????
I had consultations at Transform and MYA and didn't try on implants at all. At Rubicon I did try on implants during the consultations but I didn't take a sports bra on the first appt and putting them in a padded bra didn't really work, but they didn't give me a bra to try them with, so I took my own on the second appt and tried the implants on with that.
But at McDiarmid-Hall clinic (through MyBreast) they had a kind of vest top type thing which I put on and tried implant sizers rather than actual sample implants.
So it really does depend on the clinic xx

I had a consultant appointment first, where we chatted about the op and then he examined me, measured breast tissue, told me what he thought he could achieve etc. I then went back and saw a "nurse" for a sizing appointment. They provided a sports bra and I was instructed to bring various items of clothing so I ould see how my wardrobe looked with different size boobs. It was so dissapointing when I removed them at the end of the appt - lol! x
