Arnica tablets, boob massage and oher help
Moooooooooooorning :)
Girlies, has anyone been aking arnica tablets before or after BA? Are they a good help? How long do you need to take them for?
The other question is - has anyone been massaging their boobs before the Op with the moisturusing cream? I have been doing this for about a week, so that my skin doesnt get stretch marks, its never been so soft lol not sure if its going to help - anyone ever done this?
dont know what else i can do to get myself to best health? eat lots of fruit and veg - yep, trying to. What else?
if you say lots of sleep then i am buggered, coz i work really long hours a work and lucky if get 6 hours sleep a day(((

I've used Arnica, for one BA and not for another.
I took for about a week pre-op and a week post-op hun, I found for my first BA with no Arnica, I had an excellent recovery with no bruising at all. My second surgery I used Arnica, I bruised like a peach and took time to heal.
There's no actual evidence to prove this works however some in the medical field do think it has some power in aiding your healing.
I personally didn't find it helped me, but it's all about choice hun and whether or not you think it may help you.

Massaging your breasts pre-op to soften and prepare the skin as much as you can is great babe! Be aware though that if your skin is prone to stretch marks no matter what you do to prepare them there's still a possibility of getting them, I have stretch marks and they're now faded to a fine silvery line that dont bother me at all. xx

LOL well, lots of sleep would have been good, but if you can get your 6 hours in so your body isn't stressed at all from lack of sleep that would be best.
The eating healthily is so important for your recovery! It really does matter to your healing and the healthier you eat the better your recovery.
I think you've just about covered your pre-op preperation of your body - now get some sleep!

bought Arnica tablets, how do you take them? no instructions ..
Yep Cookie i know i will get sretch marks, just hope that massaging will help stretch the skin a little so that a bigger size can get in comfortably lol i am still deciding between 260 and 300 cc
lots of hugs

arnica is a tiny herbal tablet that is supposed to help with bruising, some surgeons advise you to take it others dont. I would ask your surgeon hun.

i have arnica cream that my surgeon told me to get when she saw my green boobs, but to be honest, it smells lovely but dont think it does anything!

Re: Arnica tablets, boob massage and oher help
Hiya Im 4 days post op and have been taking arnica tabs, I bought the homeopathic ones from holland and barret because I tried taking them 7 years ago after a c-sec and felt sick, but not sure if it was them that was the cause. However these seem to have helped all you do is take the lid off and push the bottom end twice to release two tabs into the lid, put them straight under your tongue without touching them and just let them dissolve, 4 times aday, they actually taste really nice and sweet. Ive got no bruising, but that could depend on how gentle your surgeon is. I also drank as much water as poss, think I had about 4 jugs in the afternoon after my op. I didnt need to take any pain relief after surgery until the next day at about 11am as my surgeon said to take them for the journey home, but I was still feeling ok just a little discomfort. Ive tried to keep myself mobile, been for a walk with the dog, mopped the floor! Just feel a bit stiff in the mornings, had a nice shower this morning too. Bliss!
I definately feel that when I eat cr#p I feel like cr#p!! Ive been using bio oil b4 and after, you could be preventing stretch marks so its worth a try. When I was pregas I would plaster it over my belly, and havent got any after having 3 kids but I missed out my boobs and did get some there, they are tiny now though so hardly visable, putting more moisture into your skin must have some benefits when its been stretched. Good luck xx

Re: Arnica tablets, boob massage and oher help
I asked my dr about arnica and they said if I wanted but that I wouldn't really need them... And Im one of those people who bruise easily... I didn't take anything but my daily vitamins and I had NO bruising anywhere at all :) every person is completely unique in their healing from what I can tell :)
I agree w the bio oil- I have stretch marks already from my pregnancies 15 yrs ago but whenni put it on them post op they look so so much less noticeable! I recommend it!
