Re: New Boobs first Month questions
Showering will depend on the surgeon you use and your own healing hun, some who's surgeons use waterproof dressings can shower immediately after their surgery, others will mostly have to wait till 1 week post-op. I waited for 2 weeks because my wounds took a little longer to heal.
If you do have to wait, it doesn't mean you can't sit in a shallow bath, keeping your upper body away from the water and giving the upper body a sponge wash to stay clean. You can also wash your hair with a shower head when you feel up to it, I was around day 3 when I HAD to wash my hair, I had some help from my daughter.
Again with bras it will depend on the surgeon and your personal healing, some surgeons dont want their patient in a bra at all, some for 2/4/6/12 weeks, you'll read lots of differing advice here from the different surgeons and always follow the advice YOUR surgeon give YOU to gain the best from your recovery hun. It flies by so quickly though and you're soon in the pretty bras you want.
Bra shopping again is when you get the all clear from YOUR surgeon. This is in general around the 6 week post-op mark, but some surgeons want their patients in wires earlier based on their recovery, I had to wait 12 weeks before I could shop for pretty wired bras.
When you first shop for wires it's best to just buy a couple as you still have the possibility of changes occuring to your breasts and they further go on to heal and might make a difference to you your size, I bought 3 a white, a black and a nude to carry me through and I had a bra to wear with everything.
There's quite a lots of patience required post-op as we mostly all long to have our perfect boobs straight away when in reality that's not going to happen and it's a loooooong drawn out waiting game for our lovely boobs with lots of changes along the way, so be prepared for that sweetie. xx

Re: New Boobs first Month questions
I had to wait 14 days for a shower as I had to have my stitches and dressing removed. But as cookie said everyone is different and told different things, so I would follow what your surgeon says. I was allowed to get out of the sports bra at 6 weeks post op (again everyone is told different) and this is when I went bra shopping, as cookie has advised it's best not to spend too much as your boobs can cange so much in your first year that they may longer fit. At the price of some beautiful sets being £40+ I would think you would be quite upset if you paid a lot on a few sets and then couldn't wear them. I bought the essentials a white black and nude bra, I also treated myself to a pretty pink set from asda (katie price range) and then bought some in the la senza sale £5 a bra and £2 matching knickers. I was not to dissapointed when a few months down the line, they did not fit at all.
