changing placement ? Empty changing placement ?

Post by contessina 29th June 2011, 2:14 pm

Hello :)

I had my BA 9 weeks ago, 265gm under muscle. It wasn't so much the size that promted my BA, more the droopiness attained from child production.

I'm very unhappy with my results. My boobs still look droopy, especially side on (not so bad front on), the right is higher and smaller than the left, and any slight muscle activation has my right boob jumping into my arm pit :( it's gross and I'm so disappointed :(

So far my Surgeon has dismissed my fears although I have yet to bring up the distortion.. and at my 2wk and 8 wk check up he only visually examined me and I was wondering if that was normal? surely a physical examination would be necessary?

I like to keep toned so do resistance training and have recently noticed horrible distortion & Frankinstein boobs keeps springing to mind!

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this to this extent? And if placement change would sort it is it best done sooner rather than later?
Hope that make sense. Very very grateful for any help & ur time in reading xx

Hi there,

Sorry I don't have any good advice about this except to go back and discuss your feelings with your surgeon.

Your boobs sound very similar to mine - My muscles have taken complete charge of my boobs and this happened at a very early stage like yourself.

Unfortunately I now have capsular contraction so have to have them revised - do you massage?? apparently this can help, but only on the advice of the surgeon.

We've a few women here who have had their placements changed from unders to overs due to distortion hun, our Admin, nads, being one of them.

You're still very much recovering from your op hun, so things may very well change, but in saying that because at this stage a re-op probably wouldn't be considered anyway till your body has had time to fully recover from this surgery (usually around 6 months post-op) you need to be sure to document everything! and also be sure you have your surgeon to write EVERYTHING in your notes, these are what will be used as reference shoud you require a re-op, so it's VERY important you KNOW this is written in your medical notes hun and that you also quote dates of consultations and the discussion for your own reference.

Hope things settle though for you sweetie. xx

Hello Pink & thanks for reply x

(I did just reply a moment ago but it seems to have disappeared!?)
Anyway, my instincts are telling me my right implant is too high in muscle & too far from centre (but what do I know?) and I told my PS I have an urge to massage downwards and inwards to push implant over.. he said this is not necessary and basically has said I am imagining it all. I've really noticed the distortion problem since I returned to full chest exercises over the last 2 weeks and I'm starting to think the implant might have even shifted. My PS did say I still have swelling (not sure how he knows this without touching me) but I was hoping if that's true perhaps the swelling is increasing the muscular grip on the implant and impeding fluffing?

I'm wondering about the merits of getting a 2nd opinion but not sure if thats even possible.

Thanks Cookie x
I have no idea what my PS has wrote in my notes.. I mentioned my fears from day 1 after surgery when implants were very uneven (left normal, right up nearer shoulder), should I physically check my concerns were written down? I bet they havn't. I will put my concerns in writing to him.

When you have a consultation hun, if you're unsure your concerns are written, you can politely request your surgeon recites back to you what he wrote in your notes. If you're writing to your surgeon about your concerns, then also, be sure you send it recorded delivery so you have a reciept of delivery also.

All sounds very cloak and dagger doesn't it! But it's so very important that as long as you're concerned those concerns are noted by your surgeon babe, like I said, these notes are what will be referred to later. xx

Thanks again Cookie, that's a good way to check what he writes! And thanks for tip about recorded delivery, I will make sure I do.

Should any of you ladies who've changed placement be reading this can you tell me if it was a hard slog to get your PS to recognise the problem? Did they change placement free of charge?
thanks & thanks :) x

changing placement ? Empty Re: changing placement ?

Post by prettyinpink 30th June 2011, 10:10 am

My Right breast was also higher than the left and looked more rounder (like kinda stuck on!) If I tried to lift anything weighty then my breasts would widen (bearing in mind they are already 3-4 cm apart!!) towards my arm pits and would also look distorted around the edges.

I told my surgeon of my concerns several times very early on but was just made to feel better with some kind words so then just kinda tried to live with it! I found that massaging them did help the distortion but the muscles stayed clamped to the implants.

Anyway, as I was coming up to my end of three years after care I thought that I would make an appointment just to check that the implants were ok and saw another surgeon. He said that I had CC which squeezes the implants in a pocket (explains the distortion) and said that my muscles need to be shaved/released - so I am not actually sure if my new implants are going to be on top this time (will have to ask!!!LOL)

I am not being charged for this revision as it is inside my three year after care but I have optd for the allergan natrelles which I have to pay for as they are top of the range (£600) - I could have had CUI's for free but wanted to make the most of the situation to get it right this time. I doubt you would be charge for different placement though but don't know for sure with other surgeons.

I'm sure that what has happened to me with the CC is not your situation at all but definetely make sure that all your concerns are noted - at the end of the day you have spent alot of money and you should be happy.

Also, I just want to point out that my breasts changed so much throughout the three years, so how yours look now is nothing like how they will look in the future when they have settled and softened. I am sure yours will be just fine hunny but no harm in covering your back with your PS xxx

Do you ladies know if you have a redo and still place the new implant under the muscle a second time, will the muscle be stretched out and cause other complications?

Jen86 have you found out if you have DB yet for sure?I see that your apppointment is in July but just thought you may have new information now.I'm thinking of you and wish you well!
