DAY 1 alrighty!
i'm about 3 hours out of surgery. don't remember much, i was awake for
it, but they gave me ketamine (aka horse tranquilizer, aka date rape
drug eep!) i actually feel really really good. i have
drains coming out the bottom. the dr said the size i picked is perfect for my
frame, not to big not too small. the nurses, omg, the nurses are the BEST! they are so nice, laugh at everything i say. so so nice! i was nervous going in, started to get heart palpitations. but those quickly went away with the fentanyl. i
felt some pain during the surgery, i think it was the stitches, but i
was like "ow" then it was done. they warned me about that though. i
overheard the dr say, "these are beautiful" that made me so happy, he's
a man of few words, kinda like my husband, so i can tell he doesn't
give a ton of compliments unless he means them...he's a straight the
point kind of guy. so they gave me dilaudid (hydromorphone it's called Palladone in the UK) since that's
the only pain med that i don't metabolize super fast. they remembered
that i told them i usually need more narcotics than most people, usually
the amount you'd give a 200+lb man. same with the numbing medicine, i
usually need more of that, and they listened! it's so nice to have drs
listen to what i say works for me and not dismiss it!!! honestly,
i feel great! my back is a little tense, but that's nothing new. i've
got my super sweet back massager with 2 rollers and heat going up and
down in circles it right now. i'm sitting up on a couch (just had a little nap in
bed)

my back was a little tight, but i've been sitting on this seat (i like to sit on a pillow first) for about 30 minutes now. it's like having someone massage you, plus the heat from it loosens up your muscles...its HEAVEN! i would honestly say this is a MUST HAVE. we use it all the time anyway, but i can't tell you how glad i am to have this right now. my back isn't hurting or tight at all!!!!! i got my at a Target, don't think most of you UK ladies have target, but I'm sure you can find one of these massagers somewhere...make you get the one that "rolls" NOT vibrate, it will just make you itch...and make sure it has heat with it too...it is so FABULOUS!!!
my armpits hurt a little, especially the left one.
it pretty much feels like i am like really sore from working on a ton of
inverts on the pole. the left one hurts more i think because thats the
side i invert on, so that pec is a bit larger than the right, so i
think its got more pressure in it. aaron (hubby) is being a
ROCKSTAR! he's shoving water in face constantly, timing all the meds,
keeping me fed...hmmmmm how long can i milk this??? roflmao! honestly, don't know if it's the drugs or just that he's waiting on me, but it's making me really horny! lol
i
ate a chocolate muffin (yummy), some fruity pebbles and now eating some
grapes. i'll be ready to eat some rice noodle soup here pretty soon. so
right now i've got my frozen boobie tubes on (tubes filled with stuff
that stay cold that i made when i nursed the babies, honestly, think i may make them and sell them for post-op tata's while i'm not able to work! they are FABULOuS!) and i have drains
coming out the bottom draining out any extra fluid and blood. aaron has
already cleared the tubes once..did a perfect job. he'll empty the
bulb here in a bout an hour. i go tomorrow am to see if the drains can go out, if not, i'll go back wed to see if they can go out. so
ya, they are big and hard lol...but definitely not too big, i think
they'll be perfect for my size and pole'ing lol but i'm really not in
much pain and feel pretty good! hopefully i stay this way! will update
more either later or tomorrow! maybe with a picture (i'm wrapped in
ace bandages right now)

Yay, so happy it all went well for you! Im hopefully getting mine done in sept (2nd consultation tomorrow so if all goes well ill book it!) hopefully you'll be healed and started to get back on the pole! Can't wait to see how you get on! Xx

lol, i wasn't under general, i was on ketamine, i was fully awake during the whole thing, i think that also makes a big difference. I've had several surgeries under GA and all i wanted to do after was sleep....this is a biiiig difference in how i feel!

thanks everyone! i'm about to take another pain pill, don't think i need it, but will stay on top of it anyway. plus, it's fun to be high lol

DAY 2 POST OP!

overall i feel great! this is SO not as bad as i expected. just got back from my post op appt. we are going to leave the drains in another day, he could have taken them out, but since we are staying another night anyway, he said we'll just leave them.


i'm not in much pain, haven't taken a dilaudid in about 8 hours just took some tylenol this am. i slept better last night than i did the night before the surgery! i'm sure the meds helped, but i started sleep on a wedge pillow (actually its the liberator sex wedge, get this ladies..it's really comfy, it's longer than other wedges, its covered in a soft velour like material that keeps it in place and you get to use it again and again and again! lol) with another pillow underneath, a neck pillow to hold up my head, pillows on each side and two under my knees, LOTS of pillows. at 330am i woke up and had aaron clear my drains, then pee'd and propped myself up in the cushy chair with the back massager going behind me...i fell asleep till the alarm went off at 9. not much morning boob, not much pain. i think it's cause i was almost upright anyway and having the massager on my back kept fluid moving in my upper body, i can't stress this enough, get one of those massagers!


i wonder if this is easier because 1. they are overs and 2. i've breast 3 babies and was more engorged than how my boobs are now. having had a ton of engorgement and mastitis with the babies, this is literally nothing!


my post op was a breeze. they said everything looks perfect. alittle brusing as the incision site. they said i was a hoot in the o.r. lol apparently the dr at one point said "a little pinch" but he said that after the "pinch" the nurse said i said in a joking way "ya might want to tell me first that it's gonna pinch before you actually pinch" they all laughed. when he was doing the stitches i remember him saying "this will hurt less than the sting of the anethetic" i remember it stinging a tad and he said to be very still and the nurse said that i said "ok, i'll just put all the tension in my feet" ahahahaha, sounds like something i said while in labor with my last 2 kids (they were natural waterbirths).


i guess i was cracking jokes and had everyone laughing. at one point i said to my nurse (who is a DOLL, love her!) "duuuude, you have like 4 eyes!" hahaha she said i was one of her favorite patients...when i walked in today, she heard my voice and yelled "is that my rockstar i hear!" love her!


i have nakey and non naked before/after pics but for some reason this computer isn't reading my sd card...found out it has something to do with the newly installed windows 7, so i'm trying to figure that out.

do you have shares in the back massager or something?

yeah chris is mine too. shes really awesome. i know since this is not really a us forum and also this is a -very- very small town i defiintely didn't expect to see any other patients of his!

i thought all his staff was totally awesome and hilarious, if you feel like checking it out i wrote my 'story' in the stories section it was prety hilarious. // i couldnt have the regular ketamine stuff i had to have GA in the medical center cause of previous condition. //

glad you are feeling good, i am thinking of going back for augment also as he wanted to do me in seperate ops. //

it was also definitely a lot less painful than i thought and i felt really good early on, but take it easy, its easy to overdo it at first. // wish you lived in eugene i would take pole dancing lesons from ya when you recover ^^

hahah lol no, but as much as i use it, i should! i bought it a few years ago for a long drive (from oregon to tx about 2000 miles) because i have fibromyalgia and get really tense and painful. i honestly wasn't expecting to keep it, but me and hubby use it all the time (my kids even like to use it)! i got it on clearance for $75, which is more than i would normally pay for something like this, but OMG it's been worth it.

so after hearing everyone talk about how much their back hurt afterwards i thought i was doomed, so i brought it with me and my back doesn't really hurt at all, nothing more than normal.

i honestly believe that the circular roller motion of it helps push the fluid down and out.

i'm sure there are other brands of back massagers, this is just the brand i happen to have. they are readily available here in the states, not sure if they sell homedics brand in the uk...just look up rolling back massagers on google.

if you don't have access to one of these, tennis balls will work wonders also. i use a tennis ball under one side at a time while laying on the wedge. you put it directly under where you have a knot and lay on slightly. don't move up and down. you just put direct pressure on the knot to force it (the fascia) to release. i sleep on it, once it feels better, i move it to the next knot. it's better than laying flat on your back, which is why your back tenses up while sleeping
