my mum is coming with me and just got the impression today from when they phoned that you arnt meant to bring anyone?!

they said if you get bored you can bring a laptop or netbook as you have free wifi in your room ( i planned to anyway and was taking a pay as you go dongle thing)

just curious as i made a point of saying at my consulatations i would want someone with me that i know! and they was fine but ob im not in same hospital so hmmmmm?!?!

if you did have someone come with you, was they allowed to wait in your room ?

Depends on the hospital but I would think so. I went alone so didn't have that worry but if you are staying over night you won't be allowed anyone to stay then. x

hey hun, iv been dolan park loads of times and the times my partner took me he was allowed in with me and waited in the room till i came out from op then he left about 9 that evening. The staff there are lovely and cant seeing it being a problem at all. make sure you take plenty of mags as it gets very boring in there. good luck not long to go now xxx

I went with my mom, and was at a BMI hospital, stayed over night and my mom could stay as long as she paid £70 for a camp bed and food. Worked out cheaper and just easier than her having to go to a hotel.

We had about an hour and half journey so she didn't want to drive back and forth!

I was with BMI and my husband was there from 7.20am when we arrived until 10pm (when he was barely awake and had to go before he fell asleep at the wheel!) then back again at 7.30am the next morning. He was allowed to stay in my room for the whole time I was away for my surgery and they even bought him lunch.

Give them a call to check would be my advice. Good luck!

Good luck for tomorrow!!!

I am going with Spire and they said I can have up to 3 people with me the whole time I am there (apart from overnight obviously), I'm sure it will be fine, it would be very mean if they didn't let you have someone with you xx

My boyfriend was with me every single minute he only left at 10pm at night then he was back by 8am and we ordered breakfast for us both! I would have hated to be there on my own.....and who is going to secure your laptop while you are in theatre????

I may have to go on my own, my husband may have to work so i'll have to get a taxi there and back.

I would like him to come with me because i'm so scared but will have to wait and see.
