Does mr traynor use drains?
Hi girls
Im having my op with mr traynor on the 20 July and i'm just wondering if he uses drains. Really dont like the idea of those :pale: Also what does he bandage you up like, ive heard some surgeons don't use bandages, only tape?
Em xx

i think they only use draisn if u need them, and i only had tape, i think if u have full bandages its usually if u had a lift too, but even then i dont think many people do. Just two gauzes under each boob.

Re: Does mr traynor use drains?
I had drains and its not that bad at all!!
When i came round and saw these two bottles sat at the side of me with a bit of blood in!! I freaked out thinking WTF is this? how are they attached? how will they take them off me?
It was difficult going to the toilet or moving about the hospital as i had to carry them with me and place them down etc (which after a BA you want as little movement as possible) so i had my OH picking them up etc for me and following me round!!
When it came to taking them out the nurse suggested i look away and cover my ears becasue they can sometimes make a popping sound!! I didnt hear anything but i just felt a little blood squirt out and dribble down my sides...NIIIIICCEEE!!
But in all honesty there not bad, a little uncomfortable when they are removed, but nothing compared to what you imagine!!x

Hey Hun, I don't know if your ps uses drains, but I had them for 2 days and they were no problem at all... I hardly noticed them, they didn't hurt to come out and they really helped my recovery as they got out all the yucky stuff so I had minimal swelling and no bruising.

Re: Does mr traynor use drains?
Thanks for that, it's made mr feel a bit better to know that they didn't cause you ladies any problems. I had never thought about drains until I was googleing away and I was bloody horrified by the thought lol but i feel much better now I've heard some real experiences

Re: Does mr traynor use drains?
All surgeons differ on whether they use drains or not, some like to, some don't think they're necessary. Mine did and they were fine, the only problem I had with them was if I needed the loo, I had to carry them with me. Having them removed was fine too, I didn't feel any discomfort. xx

Re: Does mr traynor use drains?
I only live about 9 miles from the hospital so I'll be coming home after my op. Mr traynor gave me three implant sizes to choose from, 410 being the biggest but I managed to talk him into trying the 460 on the day, he said he'll do it as long as he can get it to fit. I would have gone for 525's if he'd have let me but I think I pushed him far enough with the 460's lol. Have you met mr traynor yet Immie or with that be your first meeting?

Re: Does mr traynor use drains?
I live about 35mins away so I'll be travelling home in the day.
Like you Emma I was given 3 sizes with 410 being the largest but I'm already a large C/D so I want the implant mainly to replace lost volume from breastfeeding and weight loss. I don't want to go much bigger so I've opted for either 300/340 or 340/380 (size difference due to slight asymmetry).
I am very tempted to just go for the smallest option if it will look ok and pick my boobs up enough
