Re: when to shower ?
I washed my hair myself two days later over a bath tub very carefully and I was just fine, just did it slowly. My fiance gave me a sponge bath the next day. =) Day 4: I took a shower with my bandages around my areolas still. They didn't come off or anything. I took another shower the next day and started picking at my bandages. My doc said I could take the bandages off day 7, that's what I did. =) It won't be as hard as you think, just go with what your doctor says, and most important, your body. =)
Re: when to shower ?
thanks hun for replying, i am trying to make sure everything is organised in my head lol... i am such a worrier and i would rather no as much info as i possible gather so i can organise and plan things xxxxx
Re: when to shower ?
I had shallow baths up until the 7day mark then got my mum to wash my hair over the sink every other day. Once I had my bandages off at 7days I was able to shower and wash my hair in the shower again and have 'proper' baths. x

Re: when to shower ?
My scars took a little longer to heal so I was 2 weeks post-op till I could shower and fely MINGIN' lol.
I had my daughter wash my hair over the bath and I had to settle for shallow baths and sponge cleaning the top half of me.
It's not great but you manage and never follow anybody elses post-op advice, only ever follow the advice given to you by your own surgeon/clinic based on your own recovery which may well be very different to everyone elses depending on the surgeon you have and your healing. xx

Re: when to shower ?
I was instructed no showers, only shallow baths and I couldn't get my dressings wet or remove them until my post op appointment at 13 days. I was allowed to shower at 14 days post op. I was then not allowed to swim or soak in the bath until 6 weeks post op.
Your surgeon clinic will give you the instructions as cookie said and I would advise you to follow them to the letter.
