Got pre-op instructions - now more confused!
So the pre-op details just landed on the doormat, and rather than making things clearer, I am more confused!
The notes say that "bandages can be removed after the first few days, then a soft bra should be worn if comfortable. No underwired or sports bras should be worn for a month after surgery".........
I thought you had to live in a sports bra for six weeks minimum! I don't want bottomed out boobs before I have even started to enjoy them!
I am with BMI - anyone else experienced this? Is it normal advice and will my new boobs survive!!!!
Thanks x :wavey:

that is weird! sounds like they r suggesting u dont wear anything at all?! mmmh i would ring thm up and express ur concerns. i cant imagine not wearing some support. ive been in a sports bra for a month and have 2weeks to.go. ur implants wil need to adhere to th pocket and i cant imagine how they can do thay when theyr not supported.

There's a couple threads from the last few days discussions about the differences between support and sports bras, it's worth having a read over.
Either way, it's best to do what you're advised to do by your own PS. Or take a couple options in with you on the day of surgery and get them to tell you which one is okay!
Also..I'm with BMI as well, got all the hospital forms and the confirmation letter through, but nothing about post op care! Maybe I should ring them?

You should do what they recommend, your surgeon will speak to you before and after your op and you can ask him then. But we are all told different things. If your surgeon feels wearing no bra will help you in your healing, then you shouldn't wear one.

I haven't had personal experience of not wearng a sportsbra but I have however heard lots of women who are advised anything from not wearing a sportsbra at all through their entire recovey to wearing for 1/2/3/4 weeks up to 3 months post-op, more if a surgeon felt necessary
It's normal advice for YOU hun. If this is the post-op instruction you've been given then this is what you should follow hun, if yu don't and you don't achieve the look you requested you may well make any after-care policy you have void, so folow only the instructions given to you by your own surgeon hun. xx

i find it so odd that it differs that much from one surgeon to the next...makes me think if it matters at all?! how funny!

Thanks for the advice girls - much appreciated.
I think you're right Cookie - best to follow the surgeons advice to avoid invalidating the after care offered.
I have been out today and covered both options - M&S Total Support non-wired cotton bra and a sports bra - one of them must be right!
Not a clue about size though! Who knew this could be so tricky!
Ta ladies x

My surgeon as suggested the same for me, just the strap because its unders, but I've bought a couple of options anyway. 4 days to go and I'm completely bewildered as to what post-ops gonna be like, but sooooo excited
