Can I sue the Hospital/Surgeon for PIP's
Hi
I was just wondering because I had PIP implants put in me 8 years ago.
Can I now sue the hospital or surgeon (who now lives in Africa) ? or has anyone else tried and it not worked? I need to have them replaced quite soon due to them rupturing so im going to another surgery closer to where I live and having a surgeon their do it. But I think its really bad that I have got to pay £4,500 to have them taken out and replaced with ones that are safe.
So didnt know if I could take them to court or small claims court to get them to pay for them. Or would that not be possible?
Thanks

No it would not be possible to get them to pay for it. However you should seek legal advice about sueing the company and keep the ruptured PIPs they remove as evidence.

The company who manufactured PIPs have since gone bankrupt lovely and there's no possibility of being reimbursed from them, so it would possibly be the clinic where you had your surgery that the solicitors would be going for now.
I not 100% sure either babe and I suggest you contact a solicitor but I'm also sure there is a time frame that allows for sueing another and I suspect that's either a 3 or 5 year period, I'm just warning you this MIGHT be a possibility though hun, it's important you contact a solicitor and gain legal advise yourself sweetness.
Everyone so far who has needed re-op have had to pay for the surgery themselves. xx

Hi Hun
I'm not expert but there is a solicitor who is handling all the PIP cases but I can't remember his name!!!! He was based in Wales I think!!! I was googling info and I stumbled upon his details. I couldn't do anything as mine were put in a year before the dates they allowed people to sue from!!! Just my luck!
Luckily I had already save my money as I had CC when I found out I had PIPS otherwise I would have been in an awful situation. Hun it's awful that all us ladies had these put in :-( I don't know what else to say but good luck and I hope you do manage to get some form of compensation.
