Hiya
I am just wondering how long before your op's you started going for consultations?
I won't have the money til next Feb/March but have no idea when I should start booking consultations.

When did you go for consultations? Empty Re: When did you go for consultations?

I think it's a little early just yet, but if you wanted to maybe have a consultation to see what a surgeon might suggest for you and see what you may be aiming for would be up to you, if it were me, I'd maybe wait a little longer and use the time to start doing your own research, you could use the next few months to search for surgeons in your area, do your research on those surgeons and also gather as much information during this time as you can about what you're hoping to gain from your surgery, create a picture collage of the looks of boobs you like and also, the look you don't like... Then I think about maybe August, you should then start to get the ball rolling with consultations of the surgeons you narrowed down as the ones you feel you'd like for your surgery and take things from there, find the surgeon you're most confident with after all your research and the one who's surgery plan makes you feel most comfortable with and then book...

It's your decision though hun, if you feel you'd like to start consultations whilst doing your research that's entirely YOUR decision.

You do what YOU need to do to get the best for yourself hunni, just remember that you have to know what you want in order for your surgeon to know how to give you what you want so preperation is key! xx

Thank you very much huni, I think I am going to love this forum :D
Everyone is so lovely!

I am still at the stage where I feel very lost and confused by everything to do with BA lol!! I have just started looking at pics, and started looking at local surgeons, but as you say until I know what I want there would be no point going for a consultation.

Hopefully towards the end of the year I will be prepared enough to go.

Also if there is anyone in the Glasgow are that could share there experience of local surgeons that would be great!

hey im the same, im new to this site, i havent decided if BA is for me or not yet. I did have a consultation when I was 19 who i was refered to by my doctor, maybe your gp can refere you to a good surgeon? I didnt go through with it when I was 19 though, and I am now 25 and looking into things again. I am basically just researching things and when i feel ready i am going to book a consultation again. I may need a lot of time to discuss things with a surgeon and time to know that I trust them. ( luckily for me tho becuase i had a consultation before I know where I would have it done at,but not sure which surgeon yet.) Going to one may make things more "real" if you know what I mean. I also want to go so I can discuss what would be the best shape of implant type/size/texture/over or under/incision etc, so then I have more of an idea and time to think/research about these things specifically.

For the moment im just gavering info on BA and will take this with me to the consultation, as well as a list of questions, and pictures of BAs that I like and don't like. Once you have done all the reasearch you think you can do, I'd say book one, you can always go back to them at a later date ( altho i dont know about payment for consultations as i know some you have to pay for. )

good look on your journey!! xx

hi hun, im still researching, but i have been to see the same ps twice now for consultations.
I knew as soon as I met him I wanted him to perform my BA. I dont have the funds yet so I may be a little premature, but I felt a consultation was the only way I could answer all my questions and make an informed decision as to weather I actually want a boob job.
This forum is a great way to aid your BA research and get first hand experiences of what it's like. I would totally agree with cookie, scour the internet for pics of BA's you like and dislike, read up as much as yopu can. Also check out the links in the right hand column of this site for valuable info on what to ask in consultations, and what to expect after ur BA. Good luck.xx
