Scar Therapy Empty Scar Therapy

Post by InstprSmith 4th May 2011, 1:55 am

Hey Ladies!
I read some of the older posts on this topic, but was wondering if anyone has had exceptional results with any particular scar therapy?
I had my 4 week post op visit today and me PS removed my steristrips and a couple sutures that were poking out, but she also gave me the go ahead to begin scar therapy, but did not recommend anything specific...
I had a donut lift, so my entire areola was cut, and I would really love to get that scar as light & thin as possible.
Thanks in advance! You girls are wonderful!

thank you Flash

I went to my 1 week post op appt today and they took all the tape off of my scars already.. My doctor told me to take 1000 unit Vitamin E oil every day to help with CC. and he said to also use the capsules to break open and use the oil on my scars..
Also my mother in law swears by Mederma

Hey hunni, when your nurse said you could start 'scar therapy' that could be 'massage' of the scars' so I'd check with her if it's OK for you to be using oils, moisturisers and silicone scar sheets.

If you get the all clear to use 'products' on your new scarring, then usually the first thing people will try is Bio-oil or Vitamin-E, I didn't particularly find either of these did much for my scarring so moved on to Cica-Care silicone scar sheets which did have a great effect on flattening out my scars, but as always, check before using that these products are fine to use on YOUR scarring. xx

Hi,
a friend suggested to add Vitamin C &E, Zinc and Omega 3 to my diet for the first 8 weeks to support the healing and the scaring and i have to say that i think it helped.

Pink: Awesome! I just got some Mederma! Thanks!
Cookie: Thanks Cookie! You always give sound advice! :) I called and asked and they said that as soon as my two little spots that they pulled sutures out of closed up, I can start with the lotions & potions. Thanks!
Nessa:I have heard a ton of folks using E, I may have to add it to my repertoire!
thank you
