The top of the implant is covered by the pectoral muscle, most of the under placements are actually partials, it's mostly in reconstructive surgery that other chest muscles are used to cover the bottom of the implant.

I have full unders at the moment (i was treated as a reconstruction patient) and my next op they are getting changed to partials. The surgeon said the top half is place under the muscle and the bottom half will be over. The diagram covers it really x

That is a fab picture misf! It completely explains why the implants drop, because the muscle is at the top. And it also explains why I got all my pain in the muscle at the top of my armpit, because it was the one that had the most trauma from the surgery.
Thanks! xx
Thanks! xx

YES thank you so much for that diagram! My RN told me that all unders are partials, (with the exception of reconstruction) but I had no idea what the mechanics of the op were.
How does the implant not just squirt out if you flex too hard??
I'm having unders put in tomorrow, so hopefully they stay put LOLOL
Question - so they actually cut through the Pectoral muscle? I thought it was kind of just slipped under the muscle???
