Still have swollen lump under left armpit, so booked appointment at GP tomorrow.
Spoke to her on the phone and told her about my stubborn scabby bit on my left incision... it looks quite horrible now. Not weeping, but sore to the touch and looks like a holey scab rather than a neat incision scab if that makes sense.
She said I might have an infection so got to go tomorrow to check it out. Please wish me luck that it isn't, am dreading it :-(

If the scab is dry and still healing it will be sore still to touch hunni so don't panic babe, the fact that you have no oozing or any sort of secrection from the scar is good news hun, so stay positive sweetie, I had an infection hun and the wound was horrible and smelt terrible, it just wouldn't scab either, it remained wet and oozing. It's always best to get things checked out though if you're concerned sweetheart.

The lump under your arm could be anything hunni, from a swollen sweat gland, to a raised lymph node that could be related to any number of things hun, so just keep positive sweetie.

Thanks girls. Turns out it is an infection, but just a small one :-(
Am on antibiotics for a week now which sucks.
Cookie, how did your incision heal after the infection went away? Does it look different from the rest? My incisions are beautifully neat apart from the infected bit, which is just like a nasty little hole with a yucky scab over it. I hope it will heal like the rest and look as nice xx

I'm not going to lie hunni, the infection did have an impact on my scarring and it's thicker and woder where the infection was... As soon as I'm well enough I'm scheduled to have scar revision done to fix the scar....

This isn't to say the same will happen to you too though hun, you might heal just fine, it's definately something that's not worth panicking about hun, the antibiotcs will get rid of the infection and if worse does come to the worse and the infection does badly effect your scar, like me, you can just have the scar revision done and it'll be as good as new!

Now you just take care of yourself sweetheart and stop worrying Might have an infection... boo :-( 571992 you're gonna be just fine. xx

Well, I can only tell you the surgery plan for 'me' your surgeon might have other plans for you if needed.

I'm to have the thick scar tissue removed, and a fresh scar created from new tissue after the onld scar has been cut away to create a nice new thin scar. It's as simple as that hun. xx
